Steelers Share Points with the Osborne
By Goundhopper
In the First Division Langley Park Steelers entertained Chester Osborne Wmc .This match was a typical top of the league encounter with both sides playing impressive, attacking football. In a game of four halves, Osborne were the strongest in the first 20 of each period with the Steelers taking up the reigns for the 25 minutes before the break and likewise the last 25 of the game. Both sides had several chances as this game was sheer end to end football but the Osborne's efforts were nullified by Steelers defence whereas the Steelers efforts were thwarted by the visiting keeper Steve Barnes . He saved spectacularly with his feet 3 times to deny the home side the lead. The best chance on the evening for Steelers to win the game came with 5 minutes left to go. Kieran Moralee drove through their midfield after winning the ball in his own half and he played a perfect ball into the channel for Liam Bowes. Liam crossed towards the back post and the ball took an awkward bounce in front of Ryan Grayson, coming off the lads leg and up into the air, just missing the top corner of goal by inches with the Osborne keeper beaten.
MOM for the visitors was their goal scorer Nathan Burrell and Kieron Moralee the Steelers captain received the accolade from the opposition. Jamie Clifford scored the equalising goal to secure the draw which was a fair result overall.
