Sacriston CW Cricket Club.  V New Durham Score: 1 - 1
another draw for new Durham, after hitting the wood work 4 times and missing a penalty. Sacriston 1 new Durham 1. A very entertaining match against two battling teams. Sacriston went 1 up in the first 15 mins then new Durham scored to make 1-1 before half time. It was always going to be close between the 2. Half an hour to go Sacriston got a player sent through an awful challenge of which he had to go. New Durham missed a penalty. Sacriston held on for a draw
Newton Wycliffe WMC v Washington Cross Keys Score: 3 - 0
even match with not a lot of chances created. Aycliffe scored through Strevens with almost the last kick of the first half. In the second half Aycliffe began to get on top and added two further goals from Byrne. A comfortable win for Newton Aycliffe WMC who played some great football against a Washington Cross Keys side who competed for the full 90 minutes.
Coxhoe WMC v Sedgefield St Edmunds Score: 3 - 4
Steven Flockett opened the scoring for St Edmunds then Coxhoe equalized. Two goals either side of half time from Andrew Beamson put St Eds 3-1 up. Another goal from John Maddison made it 4-1. 2 late goals from Coxhoe didn't stop St Eds getting first league win of the season.
First Division
Chilton Wmc against Sherburn Village Lambton Arms Score: 1 - 3
the match should have been 0-5 to sherburn but with a terrible error from the sherburn keeper gave a goal away and some shocking misses the game finished 1-3. The first goal came from Jamie Abbott who walked through the Chilton defense, the second came from Scott Arrnott who scored from open play with a big assist from Karl Hutchinson. The third was a great finish from Daniel Cummings. Chilton equalized before half time through Nicky Pickford but Sherburn scored 2 break away goals as Chilton pushed for the winner.
Pelaw Grange Dogs V New Brancepeth WMC Score: 7 - 0
another disappointing performance from a depleted new brancepeth side which sees them lose yet again
Gilesgate Queens Head v Brandon Sports Score: 3 - 6
Open game, littered with chances at both ends. For the majority it could have gone either way, but Brandon edged it in the end.

Second Division
Chester Red Lion vs The Britannia CLS FC Score: 0 - 5
Red Lion playing some neat football. The game changed however 20 mins into the game when after a sweeping move midfielder Dan Johnson was hacked down in the box when clean through on goal. The referee had no option but to send off the home defender and Andrew Robinson dispatched the spot kick. The advantage was doubled before half time, with Johnson again the architect, teeing up Hope to score and make it 2 at half time. Although sloppy in possession at times, the away side were clinical in front of goal and scored 3 second half goals through Robinson, Michael Roberts and Brinsley Sheridan to make it 5-0 at full time.
Highhandenhold Bird v Chester St Cuthbert’s Social Score: 3 - 2
Cuthbert’s lost away at the Bird largely thanks to an inept display, but also down to a severely depleted squad.Fryer gave them the lead in the first half, but Cuthbert’s found themselves 2-1 down. Fryer equalized, and it was even for a while, but Cuthbert’s fell apart once the Bird had scored to make it 3-2.
Third Division
Sedgefield Social Club v Lumley Score: 2 - 2
Lumley took an early lead through a Kevin Watson strike, Kevin celebrated in style with a fine man of the match performance. Sedgefield equalized, but Lumley were soon back in the driving seat when Calum Garden finished after Liam Melvin's free kick was saved. The second half saw sedgefield deservedly equalise for a second time. The game finished in a 2-2 draw. A keenly fought contest, which ended a draw with Lumley who were always in front, hanging on under sustained pressure from Sedgefield during the latter part of the game!
Bishop Middleham FC v Washington Jays  Score: 4 - 1
Game controlled from start to finish and really could of Ben more than 4-1. Goals from A.Blackburn, J.Cook, D.Redfern and J.Williamson 4 first half goals from bishops against a weakened jay’s team sealed all 3 points today. Jays reorganized at halftime and pulled 1 back through Tom Clements but bishops deserved the win 4-1
Pittington FC v Durham County Seniors  Score: 2 - 2
The home side twice came from behind to earned a well deserved point Durham took the lead through a individual effort from Mark Hughes, but Pitting equalized shortly after, mid way through the second half James Anthony picked out captain Lee Walker with a deep free-kick, and Walker headed home, Durham looked to be running out winners but a mix up a the back lead to the equalizer. this was a very good game, both teams like to play a passing game, the game was a stop start game due to injuries to players from both teams
Waldridge Park FC v Whitehills  Score: 7 - 1
Waldridge Park FC's excellent start to the season continued with an impressive 7-1 home defeat of local rivals Chester Whitehils. Waldridge controlled the game from the outset with the visitors having no answer to Park's possession and attacking play. Striker Joe Hughes maintained his good run of form with a first half hat trick finishing off some some great passing moves the pick of which was a thumping 20 yard shot. Lloyd McGee weighed in with a headed goal arriving at the back post to head in a Steven Dobbing corner to make it four nil at half time. Whitehills pulled a goal back when a free kick was not cleared enabling a tap in for their striker. Waldridge piled more pressure on immediately and another McGee goal increased the advantage again. Man of the match Hughes again got on the score sheet this time driving in with his left foot. McGee rounded of the scoring with another back post header following good work again by Hughes. An all round top performance from back to front by the Waldridge lads. Good game, excellent performance from the home side.

Fourth Division
Quarrington Hill V Pity Me Lambton Hounds Score: 1 - 3
A game that could have gone either way but for the home side missing their chances and the away side making the most of theirs. An even game over the first half with the Hill maybe just edging it without the final finishing touch. The second half saw Pity Me fairly dominant creating many more chances than the home side. Kudos to the visitor's goalkeeper after a double save followed by another great save to keep the Hill at bay.MOM Andrew Robinson. A decently contested game between these 2 teams, but by the end could have been more for Pity Me. The away side got a penalty early on, that was expertly dispatched by Allport as he sent the keeper the wrong way. This should have let the away side kick on with confidence after their win from the week before, but not long after Quarrington Hill got a penalty themselves which they also scored, although the Pity Me's keeper did get a hand to it but couldn't quite keep it out. The home aide had a lot of the ball in their own half, as Pity Me's tactic was to sit deep and press when the ball was in their own half. As a result of this tactic there was a lot of possession for the home side but they could not create anything as all they seemed to do was play long balls over the top when they had it. The half petered out and was still level at the break.
Second half was a bit different as the away side began pressing higher up the pitch which started forcing mistakes out of Quarrington Hill. With the possession they began to get, Pity Me started using the wings to good effect. This became fruitful with 2 quick goals that came after great work down the right hand side and balls fizzed across the box to allow for tap to make it 1-3. The home side didn't manage to get many chances or create much in the second half. But their keeper did make a couple of good saves when Pity Me broke through the defence. In the end it was a good 2nd win in a row for Lambton Hounds.

Esh winning cc v Chester Relton Terrace  Score: 6 - 1
Goals from Jason Heslop (2) Dean Taylor (2) Aaron Jordan and Michael Bussey earnt Esh winning cc the 3 points
Ferryhill Celtic v bowburn Ath  Score: 3 - 0
Very good game we had full control of the game they closed us down well never stopped we missed a lot of chances today
A very mismatched game on paper if you look at each teams results so far but both teams matched each other in play until the last few seconds of the first half when Celtic scored their first goal of the game. Second half both teams had chances but fifteen minutes into the half Celtic scored their second, Bowburn still pressured Celtic changing formation to attack leaving a weak defence allowing Celtic to score their third and win the game 3 - 0 with this very young Bowburn side never giving up and playing right up to the final whistle.
Gilesgate The Shoes's v Belmont The Shoes Score: 5 - 0
Result didnt really befit the game as it was a tight affair with Belmont able to take to thier chances and Gilesgate didnt. Belmont deserved the win overall.
Gilesgate missed the first chance of the game after Waterson broke through the defence only to place his shot wide of the keeper. Belmont went ahead through a well taken goal and then doubled it before half time after a set peice.
The second half was more of a scrappy game. Belont grabbed a third goal before Gilesgate missed a re taken penalty. Belmont then took advantage of some dropped heads and tired legs to score another two and win the game.

Durham County Football Association Sunday Cup

Hetton Fox and Hounds vs Sacriston WMC Score: 0 - 3
A solid victory for Sacriston WMC with all three goals in the first half. A David Winter header from Dean Smith's expert free kick opened the scoring. The second followed a flowing team move which Sanderson slammed home via a deflection. The game was effectively ended when Liam Burn beat the keeper to the ball and was brought down in the box, the resulting penalty was dispatched by David Wardle
Hilda Park v Greenside  Score: 0 - 7
Steep learning curve today but the youngsters did well and played some good football when they had the opportunity. Well Done to Greenside a class above today and should never of been in the prelims. Mom. Jonathon Yip
Seaham the George v High Shincliffe Avenue FC Score 4-0
Poor game generally. Shincliffe allowing 3 soft goals within the first 20mins with a limited squad. Came back into the game hitting the bar twice with other chances that on another day would have gone in. Seaham passed it around midfield well but lacked penetration from open play and all 4 goals came from either set pieces or defensive errors in the box. HSAFC having only 1 on the bench really hit with the Roll on subs situation being used to full advantage by Seaham.

Consett Blackhill v Pelton Roab Score 1-3

Pelton Crown v Sunderland Ashbrooke. Score 2-4
Hat Trick from Adam Drayton one from Kieran Tose, Knocked Pelton Crown out of the cup.
East Rainton FC vs Shildon royal George  Score: 2 - 2 East Rainton won on 4-3 on penalties
East Rainton won on 4-3 on penalties against Shildon royal George after coming from 2-0 down with ten mins to go to draw level and force extra time, with goals from Michael Carroll and Jonathon Gaunt leveling to take the game to spot kicks where East won 4-3 with successful spot kicks from Gaunt, Knight, Shepherd, and keeper Caris who also made 2 saves to win the tie and send East Rainton into next round, it was a very entertaining game between 2 very good sides With Andrew Ward picking up man of the match for East Rainton.

Boldon Shack V Houghton Chilton Lodge Fc. Score: 0 - 1
Houghton Chilton lodge travelled to boldon shack in the county cup and it was clear from the start the reigning South Shields champions expected to win the game. In the first minute the boldon left back carried the ball from his own half into the box before unleashing a powerful effort which Chilton lodge keeper defty done well to get a hand to sending the ball crashing off the crossbar and away to safety. Chilton Lodge offered very little going forward as they defended wave after wave of boldon shack attacks. Boldon shack then hit the post with an effort from just outside the box which hit the inside of the post but failed to cross the line. Chilton lodge to their credit kept grafting hard despite offering very little going forward and a mixture of dogged defending and poor finishing saw the sides somehow go in level at halftime 0-0.
2nd half saw Chilton lodge get a foothold in the game and 10 minutes into the half centre midfielder won a tackle on halfway which saw the ball spin up and over the boldon shack defense, Ross meenaghan latched onto the loose ball to round the keeper to make it 0-1 to Chilton lodge. This clearly upset the shack as they were expecting to win this game at a canter but Chilton lodge had other ideas. again Chilton lodge faced wave upon wave of attacks, the more the game went on the frustration was clear to see from boldon resulting in constant shouts of time wasting every time the ball went out, haranguing of the referee & tackles started to fly in which saw the shacks left back booked. A boldon shack forwarded then decided he would try and win his side a penalty with 2 dives which would have graced any swimming pool but the referee waived both appeals away to the dismay of boldon shack. Another controversial moment then ensued as a boldon player had a close range header saved by defty, the rebound looked to go over the line but the referee signaled no goal as defty played on. Adam summerson and mom Michael renshaw were outstanding at the heart of the Chilton lodge as boldon resorted to long balls. With 10 minutes to go the boldon shack left back booked earlier saw a 2nd yellow for a crude challenge on Ian Davison as frustration boiled over. This saw boldon down to 10 men and saw Chilton lodge close out the game at a canter. FT 0-1.
