Sedgefield St Edmunds V Houghton Chilton Lodge Fc 3 - 1
A Depleted Houghton Chilton Lodge Squad Travelled To Premier League Sedgefield ST Edmunds For Their Season Opener In The Castle Insurance Alan Smith Trophy. ST Edmunds Went 1-0 Very Early Doors As A Mix Up In The Lodge Defence Let The Forward Clear On Goal To Slot Into The Net. The Lodge Matched St Edmunds For The Rest Of The Half Creating Some Good Chances , Gav Tate Had Two Great Back Post Header Chances And Left Back Stephen Smeag-Hall Sent A 30 Yarder Crashing Off The Crossbar. The Chilton Lodge Finally Drew Level, A Cross From The Right Was Turned Into His Own Net By A St Edmunds Defender. 1-1 HT.2nd Half Saw ST Edmunds Kicking With The Wind And Dominate The Early Exchanges Piling The Pressure On The Chilton Lodge Defence Who Held Firm For 15-20 Minutes But Then A Very Dubious Penalty Was Awarded To The Home Side. Chilton Lodge's Trev Todd Was Deemed Guilty Of A Foul In The Box By The Referee When Everyone Else Saw A Fantastic Tackle Which Won The Ball, The Spot Kick Was Sent High Into The Top Corner To Make It 2-1. The Game Went End To End With Both Sides Pushing For A Goal; ST Edmunds Made It 3-1 On The Break From A Chilton Lodge Corner With Tap In From Close Range After An Initial Save By The Keeper. 3-1 FT - We Wish ST Edmunds Well for the Rest of the Season. Beamson Scored For St Edmunds After 5 Mins But An Own Goal From Hodgson Levelled The Score At Half Time 1-1. 2nd Half Goals from Fairhurst (Pen) and Newby Gave St Edmunds a Comfortable Win

Another Goal From Ferryhill Hub Gave Them A 3-0 Lead At Half Time. Gilesgate Played Well From The Start And Put Us On The Back Foot Deserved There Win
Pity Me Lambton Hounds Vs. Ushaw Moor CC: 0 - 3
A Good Well Competed Match By Both Teams For A First Game Of The Season. At Times It Was Hard To Tell That The Teams Were 2 Divisions Apart. Both Teams Started Well, Keeping Possession Till A Mistake By The Home Team At A Corner Allowed The Ushaw Moor A Free Header And The First Goal. After That The Away Side Took Control For A While, But Gradually Pity Me Got A Hold Of The Game In Midfield And Managed To Create One Or Two Chances Of Their Own, Including A Penalty That Was Poorly Taken And Saved By The Ushaw Moor Keeper. Half Time Was Still 0-1. Second Half Started, And Again Not Long From The Re-Start Some Sloppy Marking Again By Pity Me From A Corner And Ushaw Moor Tapped It In At The Back Post To Make It 0-2. The Home Side Started To Play Some Nice Football Again Through The Middle Of The Park, But Just Could Not Get The End Result Needed To Get Back In To The Game. Game Continued To Ebb And Flow And Then A Great Strike From About 30 Yards Out Flew Over The Top Of The Keeper To Make It 0-3 And All But End The Game As A Contest. The Away Side Deserved The Win But Maybe Not By The Final Score Line. A Good Entertaining Game to Start The Season.

Middleham Started The Season With The Daunting Task Of Welcoming Premier League Opposition In Newton Aycliffe And Got Off To A Nervy Start Conceding After Just 5 Minutes , However This Seemed To Spur Middleham On And After A Good Passage Of Play Middleham Found An Equalizer With A Superb Strike From John Cook , Aycliffe Were Rattled And The Pressure Started To Tell When Middleham Took The Lead Through Andrew Blackburn , Middleham Were In Dreamland And Seemed To Switch Off When They Caught Caught The Wrong Side Of The Aycliffe Striker Who Punished Them With A Low Drive Passed The Keeper And Into The Left Corner For 2/2...Heads Went Down And Aycliffe Put In Another Two Before Half Time .
Middleham Came Out Second Half And Took A While To Click Into Gear Conceding Again After 57 Minutes To Go 5/2 Down, Fresh Legs Were Needed As The Lads Struggled To Cope With The Quick Play Of Aycliffe, Substitutions Made A Difference And Middleham Battled Hard And Deserved To Score When Another From John Cook Gave Them A Lifeline, This Was Followed Up By Another Strike From Man Of The Match Blackburn Game On!!...Then Disaster Aycliffe Caught Middleham On The Break To Go 6/4 Up , Middleham Then Lost Alex Mitton To Injury And Had To Finish The Game With 10 Men , Aycliffe Took Advantage Scoring Again On 90 Minutes , All Over Credit To Aycliffe There Premier League Status Saw Them Through In The End..
