The First Division only one game survived the weather Washington Cross Keys entertained Gilsegate Moor Queens Head, The  Cross Keys moved up to second place in division one with a hard fought for 2-0 win over Gilesgate Moor Hotel. The Keys dominated the first half but resolute defending kept the score level. The Keys final broke through after seventy minutes Gary Allan heading home a corner. Chester Plough Inn made the short trip to Washington to face last week’s opponents Washington Lambton Village. The Riversides were looking to pick up all 3 points after last weeks disappointing result. Washington Lambton got the game underway kicking up the field. Both sides were struggling to get the ball down and pass it around in the early stages due to the tricky pitch conditions. Both teams continued to battle for possession in the midfield area but neither side were able to take control of the game. The home side’s main threat came from a long ball forward to the tall centre forward with The Plough's wide man Aaron Sheriff very lively on the left flank. Lambton Village took the lead in the 20th minute with the game's first effort on goal. An in swinging corner came in from the right and was flicked on at the near post for the unmarked Warren Lead beater to head in from close range. The goal didn’t have much of an effect on either side as they both continued to battle for possession without threatening either goalkeeper. The wide man continued to cause problems down the left hand side and got his just rewards shortly before half time. Sherrif broke down the wing and fired a low drive into the corner of the net which the goalkeeper just stood and watched/T 1-1Chester Plough started the 2nd period and immediately took the game to the home side. The goal had obviously given the Riversides a huge lift as they took control and pressed Lambton Village back. Despite having the majority of the possession The Plough was struggling to create any opportunities as they found the home defence in fine form. Aaron Sheriff continued to cause problems down the left hand side. The Lambton defence stood strong and blocked the efforts. Dean Cooper had a glorious chance in the 70th minute when Cuthbert son beat the full back and crossed but the forwards effort was pushed over the bar by the keeper. Once again, Sheriff supplied another great cross into the danger area but Baddams and Atchison collided with each other and failed to convert. Atchison had a chance soon after when Sherrif crossed again but the ball skimmed off his head and away to safety. The Plough forced a number of corners as they pressed for a winner. Yet another cross from the left should have been converted by McIlduff but the striker missed the header. Washington had a great opportunity themselves in the latter stages as a long ball forward was flicked on by the forward to put his team mate clear on goal but his shot was tipped round the post by Lambert.F/T 1-1.Shadforth Plough Lost 6-2 at East Rainton Fc.

New Brancepeth Wmc traveled to Chester le Street to play St Cuthbert’s Social,Chester Cuthbert’s started the half very brightly and could have been 2 or 3 up if not for some  good goalkeeping by the Brancepeth  Keeper and clearance of the line, lucky to get in at half time 0 -0, once 2nd half started new Brancepeth started to get on top and it was Andrew Nicholson wit a good header for 1 0, Adam Purvis then scored direct from a corner and again from a penalty, Nicholson rounded it off with another header for New Brancepeth to win 4-0. Gilesgate led 2-0 at the break before Mill gallantly fought back to 2-2. Gilesgate came close to opening the scoring when a David Clark shot was cleared off the goal line by Mill's Liam Mence. Mence was then unlucky at the opposite end of the pitch when a rasping twenty yard shot rattled the cross bar. Gilesgate first half goals were similar - both brilliantly hammered home from twenty five yards out - the first from David Clark and then another from Chris Brown. Gilesgate were certainly the better side in the first half but Mill dominated the second and it was no surprise when on fifty five minutes Shaun Corner knocked in a Max Stoker right wing cross. Mill introduced substitute Stephen Parkin and on seventy five minutes with his back to goal neatly controlled a Liam Mence pass before turning
