God win for the Lyons on a very heavy pitch, could have been more goals but credit to the Plains Farm keeper

Ten minutes later Neil Worley made it 2-0 after being laid off by Fleming in the area, but he still had some work to do and he evaded a defender before finding the top corner with a good left foot finish. Early in the second half Pelaw had the chance to increase their lead from the spot after a handball in the area, and Worley calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to make it 3-0. Shortly after the hour mark it was 4-0 when David Donnelly found the net with a very good finish after the keeper got caught out of position, and he curled it over the last defender into the far corner from just inside the box. Pelaw then made a change bringing on Anthony Nicholson for Neil Worley up front and he almost scored after a one-two with David Carter saw a header well saved by Hall in goal. Craig Bain then also went close hitting the bar with a header from a Donnelly corner. Another change for Pelaw saw Paul Curry replaced by Chris Gosnell in the centre of midfield. New Brancepeth had a few chances with Ricky Box pulling the strings in midfield but Wayne Laws played very well in the Pelaw goal was equal to anything thrown at him, and Pelaw defended well throughout to hold onto a clean sheet. Shadforth Plough welcomed Pelton, hoping of a Giant Killing but it was not to be, the premier league side showed there class in a 5 0 victory. The Plough defended well in the opening 20 minutes, but a shot from the edge of the area was blocked and fell to Garry Dryden A great left footed finish from just inside the box, Shadforth then messed up with the kick off and Pelton grabbed their 2nd in a minute, when Craig Mickle fired home from long range with a superb left foot goal, following a through-ball from Kenny Ball. Fatfield dominate the second period and three goals from Baxter ensure Fatfield take the three points. Houghton took the lead with a long ball over the top, same again for the second, defensive errors from the Sacriston centre halfs led to Houghton breaking through and scoring again. 2-0 to the visitors at half time.Sacriston started much better in the 2nd half, with more possession and creating several chances, their goal came from a forward run from centre half Gary Varty, and he went past 3 Houghton players before slipping the ball through for Ben Sanderson to curl past the goal keeper. As Sacriston went looking for an equaliser, they became stretched, On a boggy pitch they started to tire, Houghtons 3rd came late on, some nice work down the left wing aloud the winger to cut inside and poke it past the keeper. Sacriston continued to try but even with lots of possession in the Houghton half they lacked a goal threat. Final Score Sacriston wmc fc 1-3 Houghton Mill. Sedgefield Black Lion hadnt played since October, whilst Barley Mow had been visibly improving of late and the first 30 minutes certainly showed this as Barley Mow started by far the better scoring the first after ten minutes. Sedgefield were awarded a penalty after 22 minutes but Dan Newby had his shot well saved and somehow missed the even easier follow up. This was to prove costly in the end as Barley Mow converted a penalty towards half time to go into the break with a two goal advantage, though Sedgefield were beginning to get more into the game. The second half was a different story with Sedgefield on top for long periods, David Brumpton scored two in quick succession and when Stephen Collins scored the goal of the game with 20 minutes remaining and with Sedgefield well on top at that stage it looked as though they were destined for the points, but credit to Barley Mow as after several squandered chances by the home team, they were awarded a clear cut penalty in injury time and equalised in what was to prove that last kick of the match, final score 3-3. Houghton Comrades were 6-1 winners away at Burnside Wmc.

In the second Division Lumley FC entertained Sedgefield Net Park & scored early from Alex Malcolm, James Laidler doubled the lead & as half time approach Sean Henderson made the score 3-0. But Net Park scored two early goals, then with Lumley tiring Net Park equalised then added to win the game 4-3.In the Big Chester Derby Chester Plough entertained Pelton Fc, But a 30 min Strike from Ben Lloyd and a Further goal on 83 min from Aaron Sheriff was not enough as Pelton won 3-2.Coxhoe wmc were 5-0 winners at Washington Lambton Village, Washington Victoria were 3-0 Home winners over Durham Bede Lodge,.

In the Fourth Division Durham Garden House Travelled to Langley Park Rams Head , It was Langley Park who started the strongest and got an early goal with some neat passing but a well taken Steven Gardener penalty pulled the Garden House level and as the match started to even out Gardener then give a penalty away which had Langley 2-1 up at half time, an inspired half time team talk saw Garden House come out and start the second half the better team and a Steven Clarkson wonder strike brought them level and then a well deserved header from Andrew Clarkson put them 3-2 up Phil Miller kept The Garden House in the game throughout with some fine save and was named MOM.
Chester Cricket Club ran out 5-0 victors over visitors Burnmoor Juniors. The home side quickly took hold of the game and took the lead through an Andrew Robinson header. A second was added midway through the first half when Andrew Robinson despatched a penalty following a handball. The Cricketers went on to create a number of chances to put the game to bed but the Burnmoor keeper was in outstanding form. Despite this, Dan Irving slotted home to put Chester CC 3-0 up with what was the last action of the half. The second half saw the Cricketers continue to dominate and they found a fourth when Simon Masters slid home from a tight angle, while Darren Redfearn bagged the fifth and final goal. Quarrington Hill wmc entertained Kelloe Davy Lamp a well contested game where both teams and the referee contributed towards a very good game of football. An even first half with both teams having chances but with Quarrington Hill guilty of squandering some very good ones. Some fine saves from the Kelloe keeper kept the score 0-0 at half time. Quarrington Hill continued to press in the second half with the breakthrough coming from a close range effort from Chris Winter. Quarrington Hill could and should have finished the game off but again poor finishing and better goalkeeping meant a nervy period until Chris Kane got the second with a fine finish. The points were sealed after Dan Beaney made it 3. Andrew Ross was superb in the middle of the park and Captain Stuart Walton was MOM Chester Leonards made the short Journey up the M1 to Washington to play the Honest Boy; Leonards looking for their 1st win after the mini winter break against a decent Honest Boy side. After going behind in the 1st minute Honest Boys Martin Fishwick cut in side and John Dean took it off his foot to bobble one in off the post. Leonards battled back, and quickly equalised through goal machine Aaron Wilkinson, running from the half way line before expertly finishing. But again sloppy defending saw them behind at 2-1 quite soon after, A cross by Steve Taylor to Alan Bell who drilled it in from 15 yards.Leaonards were quick to reply Honest Boy Keeper Boundy had to dive to his left to push a shot round for a corner and then save with his legs from 6 yards. Leonards levelled the scores, Aaron Wilkinson adding his second of the Game with a cool dummy and finish leaving the honest boy keeper Boundy in a heap on the floor. Wilkinson then completed his hat trick not long before half time, with the keeper unlucky to see the ball trickle over the line after he had got a good hand to it. . Half time 2-3. The 2nd half was far more one sided and only Leonards posed any threat. Wilkinson added his fourth of the day with a brilliant lob from 30 yards out. And Morrison and Fryer came off the bench to combine with fryer neatly finishing Morrisons cross after a good run down the right. Full time 2-5 and after competing so well in the first half honest boy couldn't have any argument about the result This was the first game for the Framwellgate Moor Salutation since the middle of November, as they entertained Washington Colliery Fc, it did show at the start of the match. Things were very scrappy from both teams, the Salutation struggling to put a foot on the ball and Washington looking for the pace of their front men with a ball over the top. This continued for the majority of the first half until the Salutation began to get a grip of the game. Then on 33 mins after a scramble in the box, Kevin Scorer made it 1-0 to the Salutation at the second attempt after Collierys keeper made a good save. It was 2-0 just before half time after Steve Maddox broke through from midfield and was brought down inside the box. After a bit of a battle as to who was going to take it, Paul Bowen stepped up to take the penalty and sent the Colliery keeper the wrong way. Second half was a bit more controlled from both teams, a lot more passing on the floor. Although in the middle third of the pitch this was proving quite hard because of the conditions. Colliery began pressing to try and get a goal back. But the Salutations defence was holding strong, with Bourne and Smith marshalling everyone really well. On 60 mins after another good attempt by Scorer, John Banes managed to follow up and hit the back of the net. Colliery heads may have gone down at this point, but they were still trying to press forward, most of the attacks coming from their right back. Which is where their goal came from, a nice ball slid across the box and tapped in at the back post. Unfortunately for Colliery, the Salutation killed the game off soon after. Some great inter-passing between Edwards and Harle, before playing Bowers through for a close range strike; Final score 4-1.
