Easy Win Big Chester Derby

Easy street win Big Chester le Street Derby, In the First Round of the JD Taxis Trophy Chester Easy street entertained Neiboughs Chester Leonards and It was  Easy street  who progressed to the next round of the cup last  Sunday, after a closely fought game with Leonards, the Game  ended in a penalty shootout. Leonards started the game well, and enjoyed large spells of possession in the 1st half, and found themselves 2 nil up at half time after 2 very good strikes, both of which slightly fortunate, in both coming back off the woodwork and going in off the keeper. Easy street were on top at the start of the 2nd half, and were level after 2 quick goals, the 1st of which a very good strike. Leonards probably enjoyed the better of the rest of the game and extra time, but couldn’t find the net again result in the shootout.

Easy street was clinical in the shootout and left Leonard’s keeper with little chance on all but 1 penalty which he got a hand to but couldn’t stop. And it was the easy street keeper who was the hero with 2 saves in the shootout. Sedgefield Net Park made the Long Journey to East Rainton

Both sides were evenly matched until Chris Barber broke the deadlock to put Net park 1-0 up at interval.Netpark went on to win the match comfortably with further goals from Turland 2 and Nicky Walker.Ferryhill Dynamos’ Travelled to Quarrington Hill Wmc it what was Definitely a game of two halves, Q Hill took until the second half to get started after being outplayed in the first half conceding 3. The second half was a much needed improvement, with Q Hill coming out 'all guns blazing' and adopting a very attacking mentality scoring the first of 2 goals with a Scott Wilson penalty on  60 minutes and the second from Jeff Dean on 75 minutes. Despite intense pressure in the last 15 minutes, Q Hill couldn't find the equaliser. Lumley Fc entertained Chilton Wmc an Alex Malcolm header gave Lumley fc an early lead only for Chilton wmc to equalise on the stroke of half time. Chilton were aided by the wind in the second half & took the lead only for Sean Henderson to equalise. But Chilton scored a third which proved to be the winner. Houghton Mill All Stars progressed into the next round of the JD Taxi's Guards Cup with a fine 2-0 away win at Pittington. Both Mill goals were Steve Fenn headers - the first after 25 minutesafter some neat work from Kevin Johnston and the second a flying header from a David Hall, cross on the hour mark. Late in the game Pittington had two glorious chances to reduce thedeficit - Mill keeper Gary Adey made a great save only for the ball tofall at the feet of Craig Ruddick who had an empty goal to shoot at but Ruddick some how missed the target.Brian Colledge then blasted over the bar from close range when it lookedeasier to score.Chester Cricket Club made the short Journey to Fence houses to play Dubmire Wmc. Chester CC started well and got an early goal 3 minutes in when a good through ball from Andrew Robinson was finished by Jonathan Haggerty.  Chester CC dominated the rest of the half but couldn't find a second goal.  The second half saw few chances created as the home team tried but failed to penetrate a strong Cricket Club defence.Coxhoe Wmc were 2-0 Home winners Over Fatfield Biddick Inn.Burnside wmc were 5-1 Home winners Over Burnmoor Jfc. The Chester Osborne entertained Ferryhill Saints FC Chris Winn broke the deadlock in a very scrappy 1st half when he fired home a 35 yard freekick. Andrew Willcock then added a 2nd shortly before half time. The Osborne were comfortable winners after a much improved 2nd half with further goals from  Lloyd Mcgee,  Chris Winn, Andrew Willcock and Wes Hood

In the League’s Premier Division Washington JFC entertained Langley Park Wmc After just failing to get something from the game against Hetton Lyons Cricket Club last Thursday JFC came out all guns firing and soon took the lead with a great move down the right involving Breezy Miller and Keith Vincent a simple one two resulted in Miller side footing a pass for Joni Hewitt to tap in from 3 yds., 1-0, after that the game was pretty much one sided and further goals from Tank Rousell a header and Breezy Miller ended the half 3-0 JFC. Langley were much stronger in the second half and scored a great header after a telling cross from the right 3-1, Jfc finished the game off with lots of pressure down both flanks and further goals from Lee Proudlock (pen) and Andy (Kenny) Middlemiss made the final result 5-1 to the home team, this game was played in good spirit and Langley Park were a much better side than the score suggested.Kelloe Wmc Travelled to Newton Aycliffe Wmc The first chance fell to Aycliffe after 5 minutes but Woods close range shot was blocked by the keepers legs. After a neat passing move Barton miscued his effort at the Aycliffe goal and the ball was hacked away to safety. The game at this stage was pretty even, before another defensive mistake caused chaos in the aycliffe penalty area. As the first half drew to a close Kelloe were getting on top against an under strength Aycliffe side.

The second half opened in lively fashion with Kelloe's Andrew Soppitt having a shot well saved by Hartley in the Aycliffe goal. Then on 60 minutes a run and cross from Chase McMullen led to Brischuk turning and firing into the bottom corner to give Aycliffe the lead. On 65 minutes Garvin Barton powered in a header to bring Kelloe back level. A spate of substitutions followed. Both sides were having their moments and after a corner in the 76th minute Kelloe scrambled the ball over the line. Ten minutes later Kelloe scored their third with Aycliffe insisting on offside. As in their previous encounter in the cup Aycliffe found themselves more disorganised as the half wore on. And Kelloe ended up 3.1 winners.

Last Seasons Premier League Winners Hetton Lyons Cricket Club Travelled to Ferryhill Wmc A game that certainly wasn't for the purists, a very strong cross wind and a small and bumpy pitch but Hetton had the majority of the possession ,but once again couldn't put their chances away. The Lyons did open the scoring after 12 minutes when some good work on the right hand side from Chris Hughes and squared the ball to Liam Beeston who beat the defender and hit the ball wide of the goalkeeper to make it 0-1.

Chances came in that half for  Byrne, Hughes Lawther and Bell but all wide of the goal. Chris Bell did get on the score sheet after 59 minutes when he collected the ball on the half way line on the right hand side he beat two players the shot from 18 yards across the goalkeeper giving him no chance 0-2. The game was over for Ferryhill with Lyons keeping possession of the ball and creating a few chances but everyone was relieved when the full time whistle was blown with the wind getting stronger.

In the Only Game in the 3
rd Division Pelaw Grange Dogs got back to winning ways after who was going to referee the game was sorted out. Referee T. Oladunjoye taking the game. David Fleming scored on 20 minutes with a low shot that went under Bowburns keeper David Robinson and into the corner of the net after cutting inside and getting his shot away. Neil Worley went off injured for the Dogs and was replaced by Peter Snowball just before this. There was still nothing in it coming up to half time but a great shot by Paul Curry for Pelaw Grange Dogs was really unlucky when it hit the post and away. After half time David Carter scored for the Pelaw Grange Dogs FC with a fine header on about 60 minutes but then Bowburn pulled one back to make it 2-1. With the wind behind them Bowburn continued to press but left the back open and had some narrow escapes before David Donnelly made it 3-1  for Pelaw Grange Dogs FC. Richard Cull then came on for Craig Bain who was struggling for the last 15 minutes.

Midweek  Commencing Monday 16th August

In the Premiership Chester Hiilda  Park Entertained Sacriston Cricket Club

This was another hard fought contest with both sides having there opportunities to win the match.,with 17 mins to go Hilda Park got into the Cricketers half and won a throw in which was fired into the  box and the Hilda Park player got a good glancing header onto the ball which went into the corner of the net. This goal was totally against the run of play at that time and we battled hard to get our game going again but the goal had given Hilda Park the lift they needed and the game was effectively over on 86 mins when after a good challenge by John Robson 25 yards out we conceded a free kick which was well struck near the top corner of our goal where Hall got a good hand to it but couldn’t stop it going in.Even then we still created chances in the final few mins to score but it wasn’t to be and we came away with a 2-0 defeat despite having a very strong side and bench available to us.

Full credit to Hilda Park who played very well at times and I think they will do very well this season particularly on their own pitch and the two forwards and Smith the centre half were outstanding.
Credit goes to the referee Terry Metcalfe as well who kept his cards in his pocket for the whole game despite a number of fouls given in the game which were hard honest tackles and he kept up with the play at all times and was very approachable throughout the game. The best referee we have had in years.

Other results from the premier league Thursday 19th August 2010.

Langley Park WMC 2 Pelton RAOB 6
Kelloe WMC 2 Sedgefield St.Edmunds 1
Hetton Lyons CC 3 Brandon Bay Horse 0
Newton Aycliffe WMC 4 Ferryhill WMC 2

Pelaw Grange Dogs fC opened their home game with a good 4-2 win over Pittington FC on Tuesday night. By half time they were 3 nil up with goals from Chris Hawkins, Paul Curry from a header and Neil Worley. In the second half Pittington pulled one back but then Chris Hawkins made it 4-1 before Pittington made it 4-2. Craig Bain was replaced by Peter Snowball and Gary Ryan came on as well. Later in the game Anthony Nicholson came on for the last 10 minutes.

Shadforth Plough Climbed  to second in the table with a confident performance over new boys Witton Gilbert Wmc , The Plough  from the first whistle 3 points were from taking and they got the ball down and played it around confidently, unlike Sunday we kept hold the of the ball and didn’t try to force it and it worked to good effect. The Plough opted for the 3 – 5 – 2 again, Stu Coxon moving into centre midfield and Simpson up top with Moore.

Stu Coxon opened the scoring to make it two from two for him this season, and it was exactly what he deserved, showing persistence pays off he closed down the keeper, who played it off him, Stu ran to the touch line and fired home from a tight angle, 1 – 0 to the Plough.

We then kept the ball and did it well, Collingwood in goal was rarely troubled a couple of easy saves for him. The second goal came from Martin Denney’s hard work, he tracked the run of their of left winger and won the ball played it to Rob Wade who played a great 40 yard ball to Simpson, he waited for the keeper to come before lifting it over him and slotting home to double the plough’s lead before half time. The half time team talk was to get the ball down and play exactly how we just had, but most importantly don’t concede. Dan Hall limped off early on in the second half to be replaced by Jack Jones, he made a good run down the left hand-side squared it to Wade who looked up and put Moore through on goal, from 12 yards Moore wasn’t going to miss he drilled It into the top corner. Philip Connor left the pitch so Moore went to centre half, he was replaced by Stephen Clifford. Assistant Manager Craig Robson came onto replace Stu Coxon with 10 minutes to go. The Plough gave 110% as they stay unbeaten, and keep their first clean sheet of the season, they travel to Ferryhill on Sunday and another 3 point’s is wanted by the team. And they want to keep their good start to the season going. Stuart Coxon Man of the Match.

Chester Osborne opened their account for the season with a 2-1 win over the Burnside WMC. Chris Winn making it 1-0 in the first half with the burnside drawing level soon after. New signing Dan Johnson scored in the second

Ten minutes later in what had been an excellent game Kelloe regained the lead Gavin Barton, scoring.Kelloes superior fitness began to tell and they scored two more goals in the last ten minutes, Nick Gibson and Andrew Soppitt to prove worthy winners.

Keith Graydon saw his shot minutes later tipped over the bar from the Mill goalkeeper with a brilliant save. The Lyons pushed on in the second half and Tommy English chipped the goalkeeper from the edge of the 18 yard box with a brilliant goal to make it 3-0. Leon Ryan got his second goal of the game after 55 minutes with a great pass from Graydon and Ryan hit it on the volley and the keeper had no chance 4-0. On the hour mark the Lyons went 5 up when from a corner to Houghton goalkeeper Keith finch collected the ball then kicked it out to Bell who beat the defender then slipped it under the goalkeeper to score. Final Score 5-1 to the Lyons.

With only 11 players available for selection Sedgefield Netpark for the Cup Tie at Lumley Fc .Netpark knew they would have a roll up their sleeves and dig in. Maybe it was just the incentive the Club needed as they gained their first victory of the season. The 1st half was very even with Lumley Fc taking the lead three times with Netpark replying.

There were some very good goals scored by both sides albeit at times with help of some poor defending. The score was 3-3 at H/T, Net park got into their stride straight away and were 5-3 up with 20mins remaining, Todd Young opened his account for Net park with a brilliant individual goal. Three Net park players were struggling with knocks but with no subs they all had to continue, Lumley put on some fresh legs but Net Park stood firm. Net park had two clear headers that missed the target any of them going in would have killed the game off early but Lumley did have a few chances near the end but overall Net park deserved the victory and a place in the 3rd Round.Pelton ROAB  were reduced to 10 Men  and needed extra Time to beat  Brandon Bay Horse, Pelton Goals coming from Ball Peck Lines And Extra Time Winner From Graver.Ferryhill Wmc were 3-1 winners at Ushaw Moor Cricket Club.Washington Jkr crashed to a 3-0 Defeat at Sedgefield st Edmunds.

The early goal gave the reds a big confidence boost and managed to double the lead in the 20th minute. Jamie Seymour broke down the left flank and burst into the box before pulling the ball back for MARK ATCHISON to drive the ball past the keeper. Midfield maestro Ben Lloyd was pulling the strings in the middle of the park and set DANIEL HILL through on goal who made no mistake. Ben Lloyd was involved again as he supplied the through ball for DANIEL HILL to race on to and coolly lob the away keeper. It was once again Ben Lloyd who set up JOEL BADDAMS with another defence splitting pass, with pacey midfielder racing clear before slotting home. It was now turning into a rout for the home side as Jamie Seymour twisted and turned in the area before squaring for MICHAEL CURL to fire home from close range. Half Time 6-0 to the Plough Waterhouses started the second period and were immediately on the back foot against a rampant Plough Inn. In the opening stages CHRIS HOWEY notched his first goal for the club when his cross from deep on the right sailed over the keeper and into the roof of the net. Three changes by the home side didn’t affect the balance of play and it was substitute John Adamson who linked well with MARK ATCHISON to fire into the corner of the net. Midfield man Ben Lloyd set NATHAN BADDAMS free on the left as he coolly curled the ball over the Waterhouses keeper. The home side were now looking for double figures and didn’t have long to wait as Michael Curl went on a dazzling run from centre half before crossing to JOHN ADAMSON to poke home from close range. New boy Craig Johnson was enjoying his midfield role and created an opening for MARK ATCHISON to complete his hat-trick as he fired home past Anthony Wilson in the away goal. Man of the match Mark Atchison turned provider as he burst down the left flank before playing in JOHN ADAMSON who finished superbly past the Keeper.Sacriston Wmc Lost 3-2 at Durham Bede Lodge.

Houghton Mill All Stars Hit 1000 Games!

Our 1000th game v Hetton Lyons is at Murton Colliery Welfare ground this coming Sunday (10.30am kick off)

Houghton Mill All Stars first ever match was on 8th October 1978 - a 1-1 draw with Houghton Burn. Mitch Thompson scoring the goal. The team have continued ever since and Mitch is still involved as club chairman and (occasional) player.Mitch's brother Paul is the only other person from the first season still associated with the team although Paul is now a spectator rather than player.Mitch has kept record of every game the club have ever played and Sunday 22nd August will mark the clubs 1000th fixture - a league cup tie away at Hetton Lyons CC.Mitch started the team when 22 years old calling on friends and family to play on a Sunday morning - the team were even called Mitch Thompson's All Stars for a short period before The Mill (the clubs local pub) was incorporated into the team name. .The team started out in the Tyne and Wear Friendly League winning 7 out of 24 games in the first season. Michael Hall and David Lewins were chief goalscorers in the early years.

Michael went on to score 187 goals and David 185 before retiring in 1995 and 1988 respectively. The Friendly League folded in 1994 and the team joined division six of the Durham and District Sunday Morning League for season 1994-95. At this time Chris Lindsay joined the All Stars to give Mitch a helping hand as Mitch had ran the team on his own up to this period. Chris is now team manager.Paul Brennan and Paul Mash shared the top goalscorer role throughout the 90's whilst Chris Nellist won the player of the season award on five separate occasions - a record which still stands.

The team have been promoted on five occasions, never relegated, and are currently in division one.

Mitch's two sons Philip and Nicholas now play and both helped the club reach four cup finals at Durham's New Ferens Park in recent years -  winning three - 2005 Guards Cup, 2006 Lasertech Cup and 2009 Guards Cup again.Mitch considers the 2005 Guards Cup semi final game against Ouston Red Lion the most memorable match. Mill were 4-0 down with eighty minutes gone and scored five in the last ten minutes to win 5-4.

Michael Hall's goal tally of 187 kept him at the top of the all time goalscoring charts until a few weeks ago when current centre forward Steve Fenn caught up with him. Steve is now on 196. Although for a time long servant Paul Brennan had Steve worried that he would beat him to it - Paul currently on 186.Steve, along with Kevin Johnston and Gary Adey have all been top goalscorer throughout the 00's.Gary won last seasons player of the season - his third win in four seasons.

The team has always had a loyal squad - several players in recent years have even left for another club and returned within a matter of weeks. From the current squad Alistair Dodds, Paul Brennan, Philip Thompson, Kevin Johnston, David Jane, Chris Rogerson, Steve Fenn, Nicholas Thompson and David Hall have all made over 200 appearances for the team.

Malekpour put The Steelers one up, then Merren gave the visitors a healthy lead before the home side pulled a goal back from Corner Debutant Lumley Alex Malcolm Rose To Head Home Making The Score 2-1   going into the break. Malekpour grabbed his second as the game etched towards a close and put The Steelers into the next round. Harris was MOM for the visitors as he constantly worked a solid defensive partnership. In another all Premiership Game Brandon Bay Horse entertained Sacriston Cricket Club. This was a cracking game played by 2 good sides and in a very fair and competitive spirit. Sacriston took the lead on 4 mins when Yates intercepted a poor pass from the Brandon defender after being put under pressure from strike partner Beggs and Yates dribbled with the ball into the box where he found himself one on one with the keeper and he struck the ball into the bottom left hand corner for 1-0.The Bay Horse levelled the scores on 18 mins when a cross from the left flank got into the box and Kevin Coates put through his own goal under pressure at the far post from David Fort. The Cricketers went 2-1 ahead 5 mins later when Yates was barged into by the Brandon defender inside the box and Beggs smashed home the penalty confidently into the bottom left hand corner. Then on 29 mins Brandon squared the game at 2-2 when Andy Robson got free from his marker to head in at the bottom corner from a Brandon corner. On the stroke of half time Sacriston went ahead for a 3rd time when good play down the left hand side led to Rob Draper crossing the ball into the box where Beggs headed in at the near post to make it 3-2 to Sacriston at half time.3 mins into the 2nd half and Brandon were level again when we got caught up field losing possession and Brandon counter attacked quickly and won a free kick on the edge of Sacriston’s box 20 yards from goal.Johnson struck the free kick to the goalkeepers side of the wall and the ball bounced awkwardly over Hall in the Sacriston goal and into the net to tie the game for the 3rd time. Both sides had good chances and the game ebbed and flowed from box to box and with 10 mins to go in the match Brandon won a free kick 40 yards from goal and Kevin Coates the Cricketers Defender was sent off for a 2nd yellow. Sacriston had to play the rest of the game with 10 men. Danny O’Brien went really close when his header hit the bar from Graeme Embleton’s free kick and Beggs nearly won the game with a clever flick in the box which was well saved by the Brandon keeper after some good work by Yates. Then the game was decided in injury time when
Brandon were awarded a penalty for a foul by Danny O’Brien, and Gav Mudd who had come on as a 2nd half substitute scored from the penalty via the left hand post.Sacriston still had time for one more chance when we were awarded a free kick right on the edge of the box but Embleton’s free kick hit the wall and the game was over. Brandon winning 4-3.Newton Aycliffe entertained Pelton Fc, Aycliffe took the game to Pelton from the start, but after ten minutes a breakaway by the visitors saw Chris Lawton put them one up. Aycliffe went back onto the attack with Mark Woods equalising from a freekick.  Shortly  afterwards the pressure told again, and after a run from the halfway line to the six yard box by Anthony Campbell,Marr side footed in, for 2.1 at the interval. By the mid point of the second half Aycliffe had scored three more goals, from Brischuk 2 and Marr. Aycliffe made three substitutions and took their foot off the pedal, allowing goals from Jonathon Yip and Adam Barrass to bring Pelton back into the game. However a late goal from Stuart Owen completed the victory. Langley Park Wmc Entertained Sedgefield St Edmunds, It was Sedgefield started the game coming close straight from the kick off. Langley settled into the game and  scored after 18min with some very good play down the right hand side from Kris Reed and finished of by Kieran coming in from the left, the game was pretty even Langley made some more good chances but on 28min Greg Coates was sent off for kicking out at a Sedgefield left back Sedgefield then got on top but Langley defended very good  and got to half time 1-0 up .Second half started much like the first with Sedgefield coming at Langley but the 10 men all worked hard and still passed the ball well and created some good chances and went 2-0 up after 55minute with some good build up play from the midfield and forward John Harrison put Kieran  throw and he finished off with a great finish into the top left corner. Sedgefield then pushed more bodies forward and created a couple of half chances but the 10 men all dug in and all worked hard and on 65minutes scored a 3rd with a good finish from Kris Reed, on 75 mins Langley were awarded a penalty the Sedgefield centre half who was already booked elbowed Craig Cowell the ref give the penalty but never sent the player off, John Harrison tuck the penalty and the keeper pulled off a good save the game finished 3-0 great result for Langley park well deserved.

Houghton Comrades Travelled to Gilesgate Moor Hotel , both teams started the game at a really high tempo having equal possession, but after 35mins it was gilesgate moor who took the league with a really well worked goal and a good finish from Mark Wild . 1-0 at half time. the tempo of the second half was just as good as the first with both teams playing some good football and again it was the Gilesgate Moor Hotel fc who scored and went 2-0 up with another well worked goal scored by Chris Brown The Comrades then put pressure on the Moor Hotel and finally got the goal they were looking for and it was only a matter of time before they got an equaliser as they worked really hard to get back into the game. 2-2 with 15mins to go The Hotel had to step up their spell of good possession they finally got the winner 5mins from the end with a good solo goal from Robert Cooper. To make the Final score Gilesgate Moor Hotel fc 3 Houghton Comrades fc 2. Washington Lambton Village Lost 4-0 at Burnside Wmc,Waterhouses were 6-3 winners at Sacriston Wmc .Chilton WMC were  3-2 winners Over Coxhoe Wmc,Durham Bede Lodge were 4-2 winners at West Rainton, good start to the season for  Bede Lodge went into a 4 - 0 lead with goals From Dean Card, Lee Pratt, Paul Richardson And An O.G.  Rainton Responded With 2 Goals In The Last 20 Minutes But Bede lodge came away with the victory. , Ushaw Moor Cricket Club were 3-2 winners at Sherburn Lambton Arms,.

Washington Victoria were 3-0 winners at Barley Mow Inn. Washington Arms got their season off to a fine start with a 2-0 away win at Houghton Mill All Stars. Mill had chances to take a first half lead but Kevin Johnston blasted over the bar from close range and a Philip Thompson volley rattled the woodwork. The deadlock was broken on fifty five minutes when an Arms free kick landed twenty yards from goal for Carlo Barrass to hammer the ball into the net. Washington doubled their lead on seventy five minutes when Danny Murray netted from a right wing cross to seal a well deserved win.
In the League Games that were Played In the Third Division, Chester Easystreet having been promoted to the third division looked to take charge of the game in the first 30 minutes but had very few shots on goal and it was a poor clearance from the Pelaw Defence that allowed the Easystreet to score on the half hour.Shortley before this Pelaw's Gary Ryan who had been hobbling after a tackle had to come off and be replaced by Chris Gosling. Strangely enough the last 15 minutes Pelaw Grange Dogs looked the better side and looked more threatening. In the second half this was the similar storey but Easystreet still looked dangerous. However a mistake in the 80th minute saw a shot by Pelaw grange Dogs FC substitute Paul Hargreaves go under the Easystreets keeper and a few minutes later substitute Chris Gosling was encouraged to chase the ball down to the corner which he won and crossed leaving Chris Hawkins to put the winner in for Pelaw Grange Dogs FC at close range.Easystreet 1-2 Pelaw Grange Dogs, Newly Promoted Witton Gilbert Wmc Entertained Bowburn Cooperage , In a tight first half Witton took the lead in the 25th minute when a great cross from Smith was headed home by Scott Embleton.

They should have extended their lead straight from the kick off in the second half when Smith hit the post and Bradley blazed the rebound over the bar. Despite making several other good opportunities they were guilty of poor finishing and suffered the consequence when Bowburn equalised. The goal had been coming to be fair and Witton were only level thanks to good saves from Bryan Potts. However the keeper did make a mistake with 15 minutes to go and gave away a needless penalty which was converted to make it 2-1 to Bowburn. Framwellgate WMC entertained East Rainton FC
In a thoroughly entertaining 12 goal thriller, with East Rainton FC showing great fight and character to come back from 5-2 down.  Both teams played some attractive Football and a draw seemed a fair result. At 6-6...New Durham Wmc were 2-1 winners at Ferryhill White Horse and Pittington Travelled to Shadforth Plough and in an entertaining game shared the points in a 2-2 Draw.

In the Fourth Division Newcomers Chester Cricket Club entertained Ferryhill Dynamo’s, The Cricketers started brightly with an opening goal coming after just 5 minutes when Darren Redfearn rounded off a good team move.  Ferryhill Dynamos came back and equalised after 20 minutes with a free kick from just outside the box slipping under the home goalkeeper.  Chester CC finished the half strongly and took a 2-1 lead into half time when a goal mouth scramble saw Darren Redfearn score his second.  Chester CC scored two more goals early in the second half through Steven Redshaw after some good work down the left, and Jonathan Haggerty who finished well from inside the box.  Chester CC created a number of chances to put the game further beyond the Dynamos, with Redfearn hitting the post to deny him a hat trick.  Ferryhill created some good chances late on but were unable to finish them. Final Score Cricketers 4-1 Dynamo’s.
Fencehouses Dubmire entertained Framwelgate Moor Salutation , A competitive game which saw Dubmire score early in the first half then later when they went 2-0 up from the spot.Salutaion pulled a goal back(Bussey-penalty) At halftime Dubmire were worth their 3-1 lead. Salutation had a very good second half but couldn’t score.Dubmire finish the game with a late goal which killed off a good second half display by Salutation.

Langley Park Rams Head were at Home to newcomers New Brancepeth Wmc, an entertaining start to the new season, Langley were 2-0 up within 10 mins, Tony Rutter scored and Steven Cummings scored a bullet header, New Brancepth came back into the game, making it 2-2 after 25 mins, Langley took lead again after mistake by New Brancepeths keeper, Christopher Coates scored a 6 yard screamer!!!  To make it 3-2.Langley withstood the Brancepeth Pressure and were 3-2 up at half time. The second half was different story, New Brancepeth got on top all over the pitch and overran Langley and won 6-3 in end .Washington Colliery 6-0 Chester Leonard’s
a promising 1st half performance from Leonard’s came to nothing, as silly errors and decisions gifted their opponents a two goal lead at the break. And that was as good as it got for the Leonard’s with the 2nd half performance lacking fight and spark. Colliery took full advantage of some very poor Leonard’s defending.

Witton Gilbert Wmc Entertained Bowburn Cooperage In a tight first half Witton took the lead in the 25th minute when a great cross from Smith was headed home by Scott Embleton. They should have extended their lead straight from the kick off in the second half when Smith hit the post and Bradley blazed the rebound over the bar. Final
Barley Mow WMC 3-1 Pelton RAOB
Well for 55 minutes we played some very good stuff, lead from the 30th minute and it took the barley till the 70th minute to equalise, 2nd half we were a yard off, the changes at half time took the momentum out of our play and the Barley stepped it up with 20 to go, fantastic game, great to see so many people watching.

Chester Plough Inn FC 5 v Chester Cricket Club FC 2
A very good test and workout against a good side. I can’t see the Cricket Club having many problems in the 4th division; it will take a good side to stop them. We played some great football at times and frustrated the cc; especially in the first half when we took a 3-0 lead at half time. Second half and a few changes we slackened off a little bit. Unfortunately injuries picked up by Daniel Hill and Davey Cowan put a dampener on the win, but hopefully they won’t be long term.
