Newbrook. , In the 40th minute the home keeper pull a brilliant save
from Byrne and on the stroke of half time a corner from the left and everyone
missed it and Wallace was at the far post to put it in 0-1.Second half and the
Lyons were camped in their own box for
the first six minutes clearing everything and from a break the Lyons had a
corner taken by Price and a brilliant near post header from Teasdale put the
Lyons 2 up. The home side were looking for a goal but nothing troubled the
Lyons keeper. In the 80th minute Substitute Lawther was fouled in
the penalty area resulting in a red card for the home defender and Ellison
smashed the ball in to the net from the penalty spot 0-3. In the 90th
minute Bell beat two defenders on the right hand side and as the ball ran along
the bye line he beat another defender and goalkeeper and flicked the ball in to
the net, still can’t believe how he did it 0-4. Injury time and a cross from the left hand side and Lawther
had time to control the ball and his shot gave the goalkeeper no chance 0-5.

New Brancepeth WMC 0 v 2
Pelaw Granage Dogs
this was
a massive game for both teams and both seemed up for it but it was pelaw who
scored first, new brancepeth kept goin and seemed to get on top for a short
while but that was shortlived as pelaw added a 2nd goal which looked to be way
offside, game finished 2 0 to pelaw and was quite comfortable for them with new
brancepeths best chance a free kick from bussey and pouten missing the
rebound, think they will be the team to beat in this cup now,Pelaw Grange Dogs
FC were away in this 4th Round of the Stepney coaches Trophy. From the kick off
it was a bit scrappy but then on 29 minutes David Jeffers put the Pelaw Grange
Dogs 1 nil up with a fine taken goal. The Dogs looked the more dangerous and in
the 42 nd minute Jefffers crossed the ball over to Michael Mclean who was at
the far post and only had to guide the ball with his head past the keeper. In
the 2nd half Pelaw should of scored at least one more but New Brancepeth WMC

The final score remained at 2 nil to the Pelaw Grange Dogs and they look
forward now to the 5th round before the Semi Final.

Quarter Final
Durham County Seniors 4 V 6 Chilton Wmc AET
A true cup encounter that
had everything; Durham took the lead against their division 1 opposition when
Scott Arnott capitalised on some poor defending to finish from close range, but
Chilton hit back in impressive form with three goals, the second an unstoppable
drive from distance, and the tie looked over but Durham showed incredible
character to storm into a 4-3 lead with 10minutes left to play, Scott Arnott
converting two penalties and in between Mark Hughes with a fine strike, but the
home sides resolve was broken with an expertly taken free kick from 20yards out
that found the top corner leaving the keeper no chance to take the tie into
extra time. Durham created the best opening of the first period when Daniel
Cummings struck a post after some neat inter-play, Chilton hit back with a
rocket that cannoned off the cross-bar and they eventually won it with a
penalty in the second period and then caught Durham on the counter as they
pushed for an equaliser, the substitute finishing well form 8yards with his
first touch. Durham lead 1-0 but Chilton equalised before half
time through Nicky Pickford. After half time Chilton went 3 -1 up with
goals from Kyle Wren and Kirk Trewin. With 20 mins remaining Neil Searby was
sent off for a proffesional foul and Durham scored from the spot. Durham pushed
and eventually ended up leading 4 - 3 until Stephen Houlahan equalised with a
free kick. In ET Chilton controlled the game and ended up winning 6 - 4
with a second goal from Nicky Pickford and sub Johnny Hughes.

sustained pressure by St Eds, and excellent goal keeping the score remained 2-1
until ten minutes from time, when JFC broke away to make the score 3-1 Wjfc
travelled to St. Ed`s for this prem league match and as always these teams were
well matched however on this occasion wjfc started the better and took the lead
after 25 mins through Hewitt who tapped in from close range after a great cross
by Proudlock, jfc went 2-0 up after a free kick by Proudlock was trapped by
Clarke who played the ball to Halliday who scored from 30 yds hitting the
underside of the bar on the way in 2-0 H/T. The second half was the opposite
with St. Ed`s pounding the wjfc defense which paid dividends when they were
awarded a penalty in 65 min and Kime sent the jfc keeper the wrong way 2-1 game
on.St. Ed`s kept pressing however the game was put to bed when jfc broke

Burnside wmc
9 v1 Chester Plough inn
good all round performance
after going 1 down after 5 mins
Chester Plough Inn injury
woes continued as they patched up a team and made the short trip to Burnside
wmc. The away side opened the scoring in the first minute when Gary McIlduff
took advantage of some sloppy defending. The Riversiders held out until the
20th minute before Burnside equalised but from then on the floodgates opened as
the fitness and injuries took its toll. The Plough finished the game with ten
men as McIlduff limped off. Take nothing away from Burnside as they played some
great passing football today.
Houghton Mill All Stars 0 v 3 Washington Cross Keys
In division one Washington
Cross Keys were 3-0 winners away at Houghton Mill All Stars. Keys came close to
opening the scoring on fifteen minutes when a Chris Slater shot was knocked
onto the post by Mill keeper Chris Johnson. But five minutes later Chris Lowry
put Keys one ahead and Craig Smith doubled the goal tally on forty minutes
firing the ball under an advancing Johnson.Mill looked as though they had
reduced the deficit ten minutes into the second half but Shaun Corner's strike
was ruled off side. Mill keeper Johnson then saved two one on ones before Alan
Wilson netted a breakaway goal ten minutes from time for 3-0.
Gilesgate Moor Queens Head 0 v 1 New Durham
wmc
alocal derby,, take 3 after
being called off twice, it was finally here, and it was a cracking game, for
the 200 surporters, that turned out for both sides. first half was scrappy but
its was durham who thought they had took the lead through brenkley but the moor
keeper pulling of a great save... 2nd half it was even up until 60 mins when
brenkley pounced on a back pass to fire durham into the lead, gilesgate pushed
on, but durham were solid in defence.. final score 0-1
East Rainton fc 2 v 3 Sedgefield net park fc
Sedgefield net park
travelled to eastrainton and come away with a great win, Eastrainton missed
several early chances before net park took the lead against the run of play
with a superb overhead kick which flew in top corner shortly before half time,
Rainton continued to press forward and create chances but missed them again and
again with the net park goalkeeper in fine form, net park broke forward and
scored a second goal with a wonderful solo goal from the striker to make it 2-0
to net park, then shortly after they went 3-0 up after shocking defending
allowed the striker to notch again, Rainton managed a spirited fightback with
goals from substitutes Shepherd and Carroll who scored another only for it to be ruled out for offside,
Eley also went close for rainton with a 30 yard drive which flew inches wide,
the referee blew then for full time to give net park a vital win,
NETPark struggled with
loads of late drop outs but had 11 to lay the game. With NETPark been routed to
the bottom of th league this was the last thing that they needed but credit to
the eleven lads that played cos they put a fantastic shift in as well as
playing some great football. NETPark went 4-5-1 to try to contain Rainton in the
early part of the game and just see how the game pans out. It was NETPark who
started the better team with Richardson causing problems upfront and the
midfield keeping good possession. On 15mins it was 0-1 with Steve Parkin
scoring a quality goal, the rest of the half was pretty even H/T 0-1. NETPark
knew if they kept battling away and they could keep everyone fit and on the
pitch then they had a chance in this game, it looked more likely when Parkin
added his second 0-2 on 50mins. Changes at both ends for both teams but it was
NETPark again who scored through a fantastic goal by Alan Jones 0-3.
NETPark were tiring and struggling to keep possession it was Rainton who scored
next 3-1 on 70mins within minutes they added a second 2-3, it was now looking
like Rainton might get something from the game, they certainly piled the
pressure on but credit to every NETPark player they all found a second and
third gear from somewhere!! F/T 2-3
Sacriston WMC 1 V 3 Ferryhill Saints
The first half was a pretty
even affair and Sacriston took the lead on the half hour when Tim Asquith sent
in a in-swinging corner and Finch powered home from 6 yards out. The second
half saw Ferryhill take over and they scored 3 unanswered goals. The first
being a penalty after Sharp was adjudged of deliberate handball, then with 20
minutes remaining the Ferryhill midfielder found his way past 3 players and his
deflected shot found the roof of the net. The third came five minutes later
with the forward scoring from a tight angle.
Sacriston could only manage one shot in the second half when Renwick's shot hit
the post.

Hilda Park 4 V 1 Shadforth Plough Inn
A Plough team with some key
players missing travelled to Hilda Park, knowing for the 2nd league running a
win would send them top, Martin Denney converted a Moore cross for his 4th of
the campaign, however Hilda Park fought back to level at half time 1-1. Hilda
Park went on to win 4-1 in a second half where some of the Plough player who
haven't been used to much game time this season started tiring. Taking nothing
away from Hilda Park they got from the game what they deserved, a title
challenge from the Plough would almost certainly come to an end if they don't
win this comong Sunday back on home turf. With new signings making debuts today,
the game started and we contolled the pace and dictated the however Shadforth
pinched the ball on the wing and capatalised on poor defenceive play scoring
and going 1 nil up against the run of play. Hilda percieved witht there game
plan and a brilliant shot by Mark Pryor levelled the scores at 1-1. With a
tireless Jonny Yip running the Shadforth Defence ragged further goals by Mark
Pryor, Stephen Gregory and Connor McTeer made the final score 4-1

Ferryhill Dynamoes 6 v 2 Chester St Cuthberts Social
cuthberts suffered defeat
for the 2nd time against Ferrryhill this season. Chad Brennan scoring both our
goals, and Clarkson missing his 1st penalty in 20 for the club. Had chances to
make it 4-3 and a goal harshly ruled out, but Cuthberts gave away some very
poor goals, and Ferryhill deserved it despite having their keeper sent off for
kicking out at Chad.
Ferryhill took the lead when Luke Mcgill cut
in from the left and let fly from 18 yards out beating the keeper into the top
corner, St. Cuthberts replied with two goals of ther own making it 1-2, just
before half time Ricky Morland got an equilizer for the Dynamoes after good
work by Scott Maughan him through one on one with the keeper. After half time
Ferryhill took control of the game with 2 goals from fit again striker Reece
Marshall who tapped in from 2 pull backs from his influential strike partner
Scott Maughan. Stand goal keeper John Sweeney had a rush of blood and lashed
out at a St. Cuthberts forward giving away a penalty and stupidly getting sent
off Marco Oswald went in goal and made a stunning save to stop the penalty.
Scott Maughan was again at the heart of things when he slipped through a ball
for Luke Mcgill to round the keeper. Then the game was finished by a stunning
strike from Jonathon Mason from a full 30 yards plus. Final score 6-2.

esh went 2-0 up inside 10

found it hard to turn on the wet surface . Jason Turnbull stuck a 20 yarder for
Jays after 20 minutes into the top left hand corner of the esh net . Esh pushed
further ahead 10 mins later to lead 3-1 at halftime . Alex Whitcombe scored
from 25 yards after a corner was cleared to him as Jays tried to take the game
to Esh early in the 2nd half . Esh then pushed further ahead shortly after to
make 4-2 . As legs started to tire , Jays pushed forward again as Dan Robson
headed home from 6yards , then Adam Hill rose highest to head home from a
corner to make it 4-4 . Both teams had chances to win it in the final 10 mins
though a draw was a fair result over the whole game .

Washington New Tavern
A cracking game and advert for sunday league. Hard fought and well
contested. Q hill took the lead in the 4th minute through luke jury. Tavern
equalised and then took the lead on the stroke of half time.
The second half was very even with Q hill having enough chances to take the lead,
but failed to make any count, whereas Tavern scored 2 more to make it 1-4.
