Washington Vic 0  V 2 Brandon Sports
Good, even contest. Washington had the early pressure but Brandon worked their way in to the game as the half progressed. The effort paid off and after a determined run in the box by Taylor resulted in a foul and subsequent penalty, which David Fort dispatched.
Brandon edged the second half and substitute Blades rifled in second goal for Brandon with 15 minutes to play.

Houghton Cmrds  3 V 1 WJFC
Wjfc travelled to Houghton to compete in there latest Premier league fixture. The game was end to end and very competitive, Comrades took the lead from the penalty spot after Halliday`s tackle on comrades number 9 Meakin was deemed a foul, Meakin got off the floor to score putting Smith the wrong way off the spot.
Wjfc came back into the game and on several occasions had the comrades defence at sixes and sevens but the final ball let them down time and time again, 1-0 comrades at the break. The second half saw both teams create chances and wjfc finally got their just rewards when after a good move down the left Halliday made up for his earlier mistake with a fine ball across the box where Baxter rammed home 1-1 after 60mins, another defensive error saw comrades re-take the lead after Grainger`s back pass header allowed Turton to nip in between Grainger and Smith the wjfc keeper and lob him into an empty net 2-1. Comrades went 3-1 up when their No. 5 popped up in the 18yds box to volley home from 12yds into the top of the wjfc net 3-1 comrades in the 75 min. The last 15 mins was like the alamo wjfc had attack after attack but just cound`nt put the ball in the net and praise has to go to comrades No.4 Riley and No.5 Riding who defendered like brick layers, "The Great Wall of China so to speak". Well done to comrades a deserved 3 points.

Coxhoe wmc f.c.1  v3  Newton Aycliffe wmc f.c.
An enjoyable game of football.

Pelton Buffs 0 - 2 Hetton Lyons CC

Both teams battling for the points for different ends of the league table. The game was a bit scrappy to start with but  it was the Lyons that took the lead in the 31st minute a ball up the right hand side from Gileshpy to Johnston and his cross into the box was met with a superb header from Matty Weirs giving the Pelton keeper no chance 0-1. The Lyons did have the ball well behind the goal line minutes earlier from a corner but the referee failed to give it.

Second half and the Lyons had a free kick from outside the 18 yard box and Adam Johnston was unlucky to see his shot hit off the cross bar with the keeper well beaten. The Lyons went two goals up in the 51st minute, a long kick from the Lyons goalkeeper Newbrooke and Weirs picked the ball up, the keeper saved his shot and Chris Lawther  picked up the rebound and smashed it home 0-2. Pelton with very few chances did come close minutes later but the ball hit the bar.

FIRST Division

Sedgefield Netpark  0 v2  Sacriston WMC
The first half saw both teams battle for possession with the away team having the best two chances with Renwick going just side from a one on one and Wilkinson hitting the bar from 25 yards out.
The second half was a pretty even affair but saw Sacriston take the lead when Renwick shot took a slight deflection from 12 yards out and went into the corner. Sedgefield nearly scored when a header hit the bar from 8 yards out. With 5 minutes left Potts sent a long ball forward from a goal kick and all the Sedgefield players misses it which allowed Wilkinson a run at goal and he fired in from 15 yards out. Missed chances 'again'.... No keeper for NETPark so Sedgey donned the gloves and had very little to do apart from picking the ball out from the net twice! NETPark are desperate for a striker and its becoming more apparent by the week. NETPark are now in need of a similar finish to last season if they are to remain in the first division.

Shadforth plough 0 v3 Sherburn Lambton arms
Sherburn from the off started strong knocking the ball about using the whole pitch and eventually after a number of chances scored early in the second half scored with a corner. Shadforth didn't have much chance of scoring but battled well and it was a great game. Sherburn second and third goals started from there own half and with plenty of battling and brilliant skill put them away.

Hilda Park  3 v 4 Pelaw Grange Dogs
well contested local derby both sides battled hard for the points with the Dogs coming out on TopHilda Park Goal scorersRyan BellStephen Gregory (2)MoM Matty Simpson.Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc were never ahead in this game until just before the final whistle. Early in the game a defensive slip allowed Hilda Parks Ryan Bell to put them 1 nil up. Despite a lot of pressure from Pelaw Grange Dogs they failed to level and missed several chances. Josh Donnelly came off just before half time and was replaced by chris Harvey who with his first touch scored and levelled it to 1 -1. Hilda Park came out with more fight in the second half and again nipped in front with a header by Stephen Gregory from a corner. but full back Neil Worley levelled it agian in the 61st minute. The game was really a lot more competitive now and Pelaw Grange Dogs were playing better football than they had done for most of the match and when the ball came to Paul McNally he rifled the ball into the net from 25 yards to make it 3-4 to Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc with only minutes left. Chris Hawkins had replaced Michael Mclean with about 25 minutes left

Dubmire Wmc  2 V 3 Houghton Chilton Lodge
Chilton Lodge were looking to end a run of 3 straight defeats in this local derby with Dubmire WMC. The Chilton Lodge settled into the game straight from the start keeping possession and putting pressure on the Dubmire goal however failed to find the net due to numerous goal line clearances & some wayward finishing. Dubmire took the lead against the run of play, a freekick from their left was flicked on to an unmarked player who finished with his head at the back post. 1-0. Although it was harsh on the chilton to go behind they continued their assault on the dubmire goal and were rewarded when John Fox controlled a long kick from the keeper Defty, turned and sent iain macpherson on his way who drove into the box and slid the ball past the keeper, another goal line clearance looked on the cards only for the Dubmire defender to somehow fail to keep the ball out of the net. 1-1. HT.
2nd half saw the chilton lodge rewarded for their efforts when a long ball / clearance from new dad Martin "bubble" Armstrong looped into the Dubmire area and over the defenders heads where Andrew Steele latched onto it first time on the volley to beat the keeper. 2-1. Chilton Lodge then went 3-1 up when John Fox again turned provider for Iain Macpherson to neatly slot home. The Dubmire pulled one back with 5 to go from close range but unlike the reverse fixture earlier in the season where the chilton lodge lost a 3-0 lead to draw the game 3-3 this finished 2-3 to the chilton lodge who thoroughly deserved the 3 points and ended the losing streak.

New Brancepeth  3v 0 Washington Lambton Village

Third Division

Bishop Middleham  Fc 2  v 5 Burmoor juniors
Middleham came out all guns blazing in this must win game for them and deserved to go ahead through a stunning strike by John cook , Burmoor were rocked but got them selves back on level terms when a bad shout from the middleman keeper caused a defensive mix up and the Burmoor player struck into a empty net , a dubious penalty saw middleman go back ahead before yet another keeper error saw the match go in at half time 2/2....second half however was a different story Burmoor upped the tempo and steam rolled middleman who were not up for the fight second half and eventually list the game 5/2.

Durham county Seniors 1  v 1 Washington New Tavern
A nervous start by both teams, Durham seniors and Washington Tavern both had chances to score in the 1st half and it was a surprise the 1st half ended goalless. Tavern came out the better side for the 1st 15 minutes of the 2nd half but Durham re-gained the momentum and scored from a Corner to make it 1-0 to the home side. Durham's pressure persisted throughout the 2nd half with both teams making changes to try and influence the game. Taverns "Super Sub" Jamie Wilson came on from the bench and scored almost immediately with less than 15 minutes on the clock. Durham's shout for a penalty on the last move of the game was declined by the referee. Game concluded at 1-1. Washington New Tavern pulled off a smash and grab to steal a draw against Durham County, the home side seemed destined for a win and they were much improved from last sundays first league defeat of the season, patient in possession, creating chances and solid in defence but it took them until mid-way through the second half to open the scoring, Daniel Cummings curling neatly from the left after a quick interchange of passes with Scott Arnott, but with minutes left to play the visitors hit back, a cross from the right was met with a powerful header from close range to make it 1-1; Durham had a penalty shout in the last minute but the referee waved the appeals away.

Quarrington hill 1 v  2 lumley fc
A game where Lumley had the greater possession but Q hill had the better chances. A good first half, short on goals but not on quality, but neither team could find the net. Lumley took the lead early in the second half, but Q hill levelled the score from the spot through Chris. Winter. Lumley again took the lead and Q hill fought for the equaliser, but were denied by a string of brilliant saves by the man of the match, inspired Lumley keeper. Q hill MOM Jeff Dean.

the honest boy never really turned up today and were punished by kelloe, if it wasnt for keeper woodley it maybe would of been more embarrasing for the honest boy, a big shock result and a big wake up call !!!
