Hetton broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute when Hodgson put the ball thru for Byrne to run on to and score 1-0. The Lyon kept the pressure on and some good football and a great ball from Walklate to Hughes on the right and squared the ball to Byrne to score and make it 2-0. Hetton were well on top  and with some better finishing could have scored a few more.Second half and Pelton pushed more men forward in search of a goal and were gifted one in the 68th minute with a bit of slack defending from Hetton and Pelton punished them with a goal 2-1. The visitors were playing the better football but not really troubling the Lyons goalkeeper, and the Lyons on the counter attack came close to scoring but Bell was denied with another good save from the visiting keeper.
