New Durham Wmc make another Final

It was Durham Football Association County Cup Day Sedgefield st Edmunds traveled to Sunderland for a Semi final tie against Plains Farm Social, a Steve Flocket goal put the tie into extra time at 1-1, but the stronger Plains Farm side added two further goals to win 3-1 .In a delayed Quarter Final Tie Durham Sunday League Premier Sides Hetton Lyons Cricket Club and Langley Park Wmc met at Langley Park. It was Hetton Lyons who progressed into the semi final of the competition, Ian Watson got the opening goal on eleven minutes when the Langley Park goalkeeper miskicked his clearance and Watson ran in to score. Watson could have doubled his tally but a brilliant save from the goalkeeper. All the action was in the Langley Park half and Steve Capper and Danny Moore were denied by the goalkeeper. The Lyons went 2-0 up in the 31st minute, a corner from Craig Price and a excellent diving header from Nicky Kane scored the goal. Watson had another good chance to score but hit the angle of the woodwork. Nicky Kane got his second goal in the 53rd minute a pin point cross from Callum Griffiths and Kane got his head on the ball to make it 3-0. Langley Park kept looking for a goal and a cross from the left hand side and the striker’s header found the net 3-1.Hetton had plenty of chances for the rest of the game but failed to find the net   
In the League Own Cup Competitions the semi-final of the JD Taxis Trophy took place, New Durham Wmc traveled to Chilton Wmc, both side looking to book a place in the Final. , New Durham opened the scoring on the 20 mins through, Andrew Barrowclough, then Durham made it 2-0 just before half time through Graeme Brenkley, The second half saw Durham throw a 2 goal lead away as Chilton fought back to make the score 2-2 at 90 minutes Nicky Pickford scored a free kick from the edge of the box to make it, 1-2 and then 10mins from time he added a second, a penalty to make 2-2.  This took the tie into extra time, Durham led again through Brenkley and again Chilton leveled up, but with 8 Mins left mark wild was put through to make it 4-3 and send Durham into the final
In the Premier Division Pelton ROAB entertained Newton Aycliffe Wmc goals from Owen and Hanson for Newton Aycliffe gave them a share of the points in a 2-2 draw. Washington JFC entertained Chester le Street Chester’s , Score: Washington JFC 4-2 Chester’s, JFC had 60% of the play in the 1st half but this did not stop Chester’s taking the lead in 30mins when their no.9 got to the touch line playing a great ball into the path of his team mate who side footed in from 5yds 1-0 . Jock Clarke  made it 1-1 when a great pass by Proudock from the right found Clarke who timed his header well the ball flying into the bottom corner 1-1. Jfc went 2-1 up after a great 4oyd ball by Middlemiss found Miller on the rightwing and his 1st time pass found Macadam who slotted home from 7 yds, H/T 2-1 jfc. Soon after the re-start jock made it 3-1 after some neat football through the middle, after one blocked shot the ball fell to Briggs who placed his shot into the left hand corner, after more pressure a great 1-2 between Middlemiss and Macadam saw Middlemiss left foot shot stay low beaten the keeper to make the score 4-2 to Washington .
In the First Division Leaders Coxhoe Wmc travelled to Sacriston Cricket Club, The Cricketers started the game quite brightly and had plenty of the ball and had some free kicks but they didn’t really make the most of them and failed to trouble Tommy Orton in the Coxhoe goal.Coxhoe took the lead when the cricketers failed to clear the ball out of the box from the free kick and Michael Frazer was adjudged to have bundled the Coxhoe player over in the box and a penalty was given. The Coxhoe number 10 despatched the penalty into the bottom right hand corner to make it 1-0.
Half time came and went with little more meaningful action and the game was still in the balance. Then on 51 minutes the Coxhoe went 2-0 up , the  centre forward over ran the ball into our box where Stuart Fenton was defending and he had seemed to have covered the run but then he decided to let the ball run instead of clearing it and the Coxhoe forward took a gamble and continued his run forward and found himself with a easy finish from 8 yards out.The Cricketers pushed forward looked to score but they conceded the best goal of the match when a good passing move by Coxhoe coming in from the left cut open our defence and the chance was well finished to make it 3-0.With 89 minutes on the clock Coxhoe got another penalty when Kevin Coates was tracking back into his own box and he went shoulder to shoulder with the Coxhoe forward who went down very easy and again the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. The penalty was converted expertly again, this time into the top right hand corner of the net to make it 4-0.However just a minute later straight from the kick off we finally managed to put a good passing move together in the Coxhoe half which resulted in Collinson making the final pass to Coates who was forced wide by the Coxhoe keeper before Coates eventually rounded him and he found the top left corner of the unguarded net from a tight angle to make amends for conceding the penalty. Burnside Wmc lost 4-3 at Chester Hilda Park, Net Park and Washington Vic shared the points in a 1-1 draw, and Sedgefield Social lost 1-0 at the Queens Head.

In the second division Durham Bede Lodge entertained Chilton Lodge a fairly evenly matched game saw Bede lodge take the lead through a quality Andrew Gates strike. Houghton Chilton lodge equalised from a well hit free kick. As the game looked like it was heading for a draw, Neill Waters scored the winning goal for Bede lodge. Ouston Fc lost 4-0 at East Rainton Fc. Chester Plough Inn completed their first league double of the season away to Esh Winning Cricket Club. Dean Cooper opened the scoring in the early stages and Sam Baddams quickly doubled the lead. Chris Cuthbertson added a third after fifteen minutes only for Esh Winning to reduce the deficit ten minutes later. Dean Cooper made it 4-1 shortly before half time. The Plough continued to control the game in the second half and added a fifth goal through Mark Atchison and soon after made it six through Gavin Prudhoe. Esh Winning scored 2 goals to make the score more respectable but Chris Cuthbertson rounded the scoring off to make it 7-3 to The Plough!.Ferryhill Saints shared the points at Ushaw Moor Cricket Club in a 2-2 draw. The Lambton Arms earned a Point in the 1-1 draw at Washington Lambton Village Inn.
In the Third Division Pelaw Grange Dogs travelled to Framwellgate Moor to play the Club on the King George Pitch, Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc seemed a little jittery at the start but soon settled down and took the lead after 10 minutes with Chris Gosnell the scorer. The match then was dominated mainly by Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc but they failed to take any advantage of their possession. In the second half the game continued in the same vane but then a flighted ball into the box from Framwellgate moor was tipped onto the bar came off the bar and hit keeper Craig Bain to bounce on the line for Paul Curry to knock the ball accidentally into his own net. This was short lived though for Chris Harvey who had come on as a substitute scored and then got a second to make it 1-3 to the Pelaw Grange Dogs FC. In the Big Chester le Street Derby Game the Cricket Club entertained visitors the Red Lion , An entertaining derby between hosts the Cricket Club and visitors The Red Lion .The Red Lion came out on top winning 3-2. The first half was a tight affair with neither side able to break the deadlock. The game came to life in the second half, however, as the Red Lion took the lead only to be pegged back by a Michael Redshaw header. The visitors took the lead for a second time but a Chris Rayner strike saw the Cricketers equalize. The game was won in the last few minutes with a strike from the edge of the box after the Cricket Club failed to clear their lines. West Rainton were at New Brancepeth Wmc the game started with a few nerves for New Brancepeth after there last result against Rainton but dominated the game throughout and were never in doubt to be fair, goals came from Steve Hughes, Ricky Box and Ryan Wilkinson,West Rainton with an own goal, very comfortable 3-1 win for New Brancepeth in the end. Pittington Fc entertained Lumley Fc at Sherburn Liesure Centre, this was a pretty even game, with chances all over the pitch, but it was pittington who took the 2-0 win, thanks to Richard lewins and Dan Devine goals.. Dubmire Lost 3-2 at Bowburn Fc.
In the Fourth Division Ferryhill Dynamos entertained the Honest Boy from Washington. It was the  Dynamo’s who took an early lead after a goalkeeping error, the keeper failed to deal with a simple back pass and gifted Vinny Gash with an easy tap in. Gash was at it again when he intercepted a misplaced pass from the goal keeper to slot home and make it 2-0 at half time. Ferryhill wrapped the game up when Liam Armstrong pick the ball up went past a defender and drill home into the bottom left hand corner, final score 3-0 to the Dynamo’s. Langley Park Rams Head  had Burnmoor as visitors ,Langley kept there unbeaten run going with 2 goals from Steven Mickle , a one of from Craig bowman and 1 from Anthony Bussey,Burnmoor scored best goal of game with a fine volley. Score could have been more as both sides hit the woodwork. Final Score 4-1.Pity Me travelled to Kelloe to play the Davy Lamp, A very fast pace game and it was end to end for large periods of the game. The first half was pretty much even with both teams creating their fair of chances, with the best chance of the half falling to pity me, where a cross field ball left the striker one on one with the keeper, the striker chipped the keeper only to see the ball come back off the post. The second half again was end to with Kelloe taking the lead with a will taken goal after beating the offside trap. Pity me got back into the when David Grindley but a looping cross into the box and the keeper came and dropped the ball Pity Me were the fastest to react with Kelvin Scorer slotting the ball home from close range. The game continued to go end to end until the latter stages of the game where Pity Me seemed to run out of legs and Kelloe made the most of this scoring 3 more goals. Washington Jays entertained Quarrington Hill Wmc.The Jays led 2-1 at half time with Josh Fox getting both goals. Quarrington equalized early in the 2nd half, but Jays went 3-2 up with 20 mins to go from the penalty spot when David Halliday converted well. Jays 4th came 10 mins from time after a good effort from Tom Clements from outside the box came off Adam Hill and wrong footed Quarringtons keeper.

KELLOE  4 v 1 HETTON LYONS CC

A large crowd gathered at Ferens Park for the first of the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday Football League 2012 cup finals. Hetton start the game strongly creating three good opportunities in the first ten minutes, Lee Harrison has a long range effort that sails over the top of the bar, two minutes later Joseph Walton warms the palms of Kelloe keeper Carl Morris with a fierce shot that rebounds to safety, veteran Jason Ainsley comes closest to opening the scoring with a lob over the advancing keeper that falls onto the top of the net. Kellloe defend well and rebuke Hettons pressure and mid way through the half start to gain foothold in the game.  A poor clearance by the Hetton keeper is latched onto on the edge of the box by Kieran Megran however keeper Ben Escritt redeems himself with a brave save.  Minutes later Kelloe should of took the lead, an accurate Neil Charlton cross finds Hal Graham free in the box  his powerful header beats  keeper Ben Escritt but skims off the top of the bar. Both teams continue to create chances, mostly from well outside the penalty area, but the finishing does not match up to the approach play and the first half ends 0-0.

Kelloe announce their intentions for the second half with the introduction of  forward Jake Johnson who almost breaks the deadlock with his first touch heading narrowly wide a great Graham Irving cross. Kelloes press hard and on the fifty third minute mark take the lead, a powerful Kieran Megran  run down the right finishes  with a wonderful pull back cross from the goal line into the path of Gavin Barton who scores with an accurate header. Kelloe make it two nil seven minutes later, Gary Turton’s corner kick finds Gavin Barton free in the box and again he powerfully heads home. Kelloe are in full flow and confidently press forward and are fortuitously awarded a penalty, Gavin Barton hammers the resultant spot kick home to complete his hat-trick. Hetton to their credit keep player attractive football in search of a lifeline however the result is put beyond doubt when a Kieran Megran corner is sliced into his own net by a Hetton defender. In the final moments of the game Michael Canavan scores Hettons consolation goal to make the final score 4 – 1.

Kelloe hit Ten

In the Durham County Football Association Sunday Cup 3rd round Kelloe wmc Finally played the Home Fixture against Hartlepool Hillcarter, After 3 weeks of trying,. Kelloe dominated from the off when they went 3-0 up early up with 2goals from the returning Gavin Barton and 1 from Tony Megran. Kelloe were 6-0 up at half time when John Turton and Wilson added goals as well as Megran doubling his tally! After the break both Barton and Megran completed their hat-tricks, Megran's 5th of the season! Subs Peachey and Thompson added goals to make the final score 10-0 to kelloe.This now sets up all Durham Sunday League tie in the next round against Sedgefield st Edmunds. All the other Games in the County Cup were postponed.
           In the Pass and Go League Cup Quarter Final Pelton Roab entertained Washington Jfc, Pelton Field was not playable so the tie was transferred to Biddick School’s 3g pitch. The Game Started More like a Practice Game Then the game burst into Life 30 Mins in When Ritchie Scored the Opener for Pelton. Ritchie Was Sent  off, a straight red for a high stud showing tackle , this gave jfc more of the game and they made that pay when a great pass from the right saw Costa Lorraine flick the ball passed the diving RAOB keeper. 1-1 H/T The Sending Off Seemed Top Spur Pelton On And 5 Mins Into The Second Half A Neat Finish From Graver Restored Peltons Lead Mickle Put the Game To Bed Before A Mistake From The Washington Goalkeeper Gifted Kerry With Peltons 4, Tough On The Keeper Who Up Till Then Had Pulled Of Several Saves For Washington To Keep The Score Down.
          In the Quarter Final of the JD Taxis Trophy New Durham Wmc entertained Chester Red Lion; it was a great cup tie, end to end football from both sides in tricky conditions. New Durham winning 4-1 goals coming from Mark Wild, Andrew Chester and 2 from Nicky Marley.
         In the First Division Max Stoker netted both goals for Houghton Mill All Stars in a fine 2-0 away win at neighbours Burnside WMC.Stoker's first came on the hour mark when he fired the ball into the top corner of the net from twenty five yards out beating the outstretched arms of keeper Lee Henderson. His second was on seventy five minutes when he ran into the six yard area to head home a fine Joe Mence right wing cross after good work by Stephen Parkin.With five minutes remaining Burnside were unlucky not to pull a goal back when a great Chris Wilson strike was met by Mill keeper Dan Pearson who made an acrobatic backward save to punch the ball over the cross bar. Mill's defensive partnership of Alistair Dodds and Philip Thompson were resolute throughout whilst Burnside full back Stephen Gamble was also in fine form. Washington Cross Keys were 4-0 home winners over Sacriston Wmc in very difficult conditions, even game in 1st half, 2nd half Washington the better side. Chester Hilda Park and visitors Gilesgate Moor Queens Head shared the points.
            In the second Division East Rainton Fc won 7-1 at Esh Winning Cricket Club, Ouston Fc won 1-0 at Sherburn Lambton Arms and Shadforth Plough Inn won 4-2 at Washington Lambton Village.
             In the Third Division Dubmire Wmc entertained Pittington Fc, In very poor conditions both sides played some good football, but an own goal and 2 Goals From Ben Maddison supported by David Finch, gave Dubmire the 4-3 win Lumey Fc entertained the Bird Inn, it was The Bird that raced into a 2-0 lead which they led on to until half time. Mark Bailes scored Lumley’s first goal before Carl Kalagurama equalised then he grabbed the winner. Final score 3-2 LumleyWest Rainton took the lead after about 20 minutes in their home game against Pelaw Grange Dogs, both sides had found their feet with a drive into the left hand corner that Craig Bain couldn't reach. Neil Worley of Pelaw Grange Dogs FC then had a fine passing move with Dave Henderson who slotted the ball home to make it 1-1. Before half time West Rainton went ahead again only for Pelaw to respond straight away to make it 2-2 before half time. After the break Pelaw eventually went ahead for the first time with a goal from Chris Hawkins and took control of the game with further goals from Chris Harvey and David Donnelly. To make it 2-5 to Pelaw Grange Dogs FC.
    In the Fourth Division Langley Park Rams Head entertained Witton Gilbert Wmc; it was another win for Langley   but only just. Really fair play to Witton only turned up with 11 and mostly all young players, but they battled well and should of getting a draw out a game. Langley were poor and only player Michael Watson played well for team. Martin Bowers was sent of in first half for Langley and rightly so for a two footed challenge and Langley just couldn’t get going with ten men. Langley got the win in last 5 minutes Anthony Bussey was fouled in box with no complaints from witton and he got up and put penalty away. Langley winning 1-0.On a tricky pitch Washington jays entertained The Avenue from Shincliffe, the Jays took an early lead through Dan Robson, who ran onto a through ball and flicked the ball past shincliffes keeper. Shincliffe replied from a big deflection off a jay’s defender which looped over the keeper from 20 yards. In the second half jays went in front when David Halliday headed in form a set piece. Both teams attacked quite well as legs became tired and in the last minute shincliffe won a penalty that was saved by Jay’s keeper Anth Scott to the delight of his team mate’s .Jays winning 2-1
