Kelloe upset the hosts when a deflected cross from barton fell to megran who volleyed home after 3 minutes. Kelloe piled the pressure on further more but were denied by some great saves from the hetton goalkeeper. Kelloe extended their lead when the hetton goalkeeper misjudged a cross and Wilson nipped in with a flick header. Kelloe then hit the bar and were further denied by the hetton keeper, but hetton made kelloe pay for their missed chances when a defensive mistake lead to craggs firing in just before half time. The second half was end to end and hetton piled pressure on but couldn't break the kelloe rearguard. Byrne had a chance in the last minute but couldn't force extra time, kelloe won 2-1. Scrappy game on a bumpy pitch and the Lyons were a goal down after 3 minutes through some poor defending, Craggs had a great chance soon after to level the game but a great save from the kelloe keeper denied him. Kelloe scored the second after 18 minutes with a flicked on header with the Lyons keeper stranded. Danny Craggs pulled a goal back in the 40th minute after a lovely ball from Teasdale. Second half much like the first Kelloe had chances to put the game out of sight and the Lyons had enough of the ball but the final ball wasn't good enough

A great day for a derby with the cricket starting the better team going 2 up in the first 20mins and on the stroke of half time we let the opposition back in the game with an own goal. Sacriston WMC came out in the 2nd half much stronger and wanting more of the ball. Sacriston
CCCFC took a 2 goal led after 15 minutes after two inswinging corners found
the head of O'Brian and then Frazier. With 15 minutes of the frist half left

third was a well delivered free kick from Richardson again which Renwick
managed to get a head on and into the corner. Then a long kick from keeper
Potts Sailed over the CCCFC defense and Renwick found himself one on one and
he poked it into the corner.
More drama occured when sub Yates scored from a tight angle to make it 4-3 and a interesting 10 minutes. But 4-3 was the way the local derby finished and bragging rights to the WMC until next time

Shadforth Plough FC's 0 v 3 Pelaw Grange Dogs
Pelaw won the battle of the sides from the top 4, they took the lead in the first half with a superb overhead kick which somehow found its way through 4 players and past Price in goal, the second goal in the first half saw Richardson play it back to Price his clearance hit the heels of Richardson and fell to the feet of the Pelaw striker who tapped it home. 2nd Half the Plough pushed on which left more room for the break away from the visitors they took advantage of the space and grabbed the 3rd. On the cold day and on a difficult pitch the first 25 minutes were bogged down in midfield although Pelaw were doing more of the pressing. On 27 minutes they won a corner and from David Donnellys cross Paul McNally failed to connect properly nad the ball spun to David Jeffers with his back to goalhe overhead kicked it from the edge of the penalty box past Shadforth's Ian Price into the corner of the net to make it 1 nil to Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc.In the 40th minute Chris Hawkins pressured Shadforths centre back in to passing back to his keeper who only hit the ball off his own player and it rebounded to Chris who from a tight angle slotted the ball into the net just before half time. At the start of the second half David Donnelly of the Pelaw Grange Dogs then hit the bar in quick succession first in the 46th minute and then from 25 yards in the 46th minute. Edward Shanks came on for Josh Donnelly in the 72nd minute and in the 76th minute David Henderson put Chris Hawkins threw only for him to shoot over the bar. however 4 minutes later he was clear down the right wing with G. Coxon hard on his heal when he squared for David Jefffers to get his 2 nd goal of the match and make it 3 nil to Pelaw Grange Dogs Fc. Chris Gosnell came on for captain David Donnelly and Chris Harvey for David Henderson for the last 10/15 minutes and they were soon in the action as Shadforth struggled at the back and Chris Harvey just failed to score as the ball rebounded off the bar. A good result for Pelaw Grange Dogs on a very diffivult pitch to play on and referee.
Chester Hilda Park 4 v 2 Sedgefield Social Club
With an ideal morning for football hopes were high to get back in the swing with our first game since 10th Jan.Which was soon proved wrong by a quick attacking Sedgefield side and a rusty Hilda Park Defence soon left us trailing 2 -0 down.Heads didn't drop and we got back into the game by half time with goals from Pryer and Barber(pen) HT 2-2We applied pressure against a stubborn social club who battled to get back in the game but goals from Yip and Chapman sealed the Victory 4-2.Sedgefield came out the blocks the quickest and were two nil up after twenty minutes and the scoreline remained the same until five minutes before half time when Hilda Park scored from a corner. Hilda Park drew level two minutes later with a dubious penalty decision and the half finished 2 - 2. Hilda Park took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Jonathan Yip out paced a sleepy Sedgefield centre half and finished A good win for Dubmire Man of the match Stephen Donkin pulling the strings in midfield emphatically. Sedgefield pressed hard to no avail and Hilda Park added a fourth shortly before the end of the game. Dubmire Wmc Fc 7 v 1 Bowburn Fc for Star of the show James Gardiner to score an amazing 7 goals . Lumley had the best of the game first half with lumley having a few good chances stopped by the hetton keeper, then lumley scored by playing good football and some sloppy defending by hetton making it 1 - 0 to lumley. Waldridge Park travelled to Kelloe Davy Lamp and came away with the points after a 4-2 win. The game was played on a very heavy pitch and it was Waldridge who took an early lead when Andy Armstrong was felled in the box and the resulting penalty was put away by Niki Robson. Kellhoe adapted to the conditions better and were soon level when a ball over the top of the visitors defence let the striker into score. The home side then took the lead with a similar goal. Waldridge drew level just before the break with a good individual goal by LLoyd MCgee. The visitors took the game to Kellhoe in the second half and were rewarded with another penalty as Steven Dobbing was fouled, again Niki Robson stepped up to score. Steven Dobbing rounded off the scoring finishing off a good passing move. Richard Ellis received the mean of the match reward with an outstanding effort.
High
Shincliffe Avenue 4 v 2 Quarrington Hill
The game started with a very early Q.Hill as stand-in 'keeper Adam Laing failed to clear his lines instead knocking it straight to the striker's feet who rounded him and finished to take the early lead. The Avenue pressed hard with new signing Diego Santamaria impressing with some great trickery up front. Craig Browne fed a neat pass through to player-manager Paul Roughley who's chip round the far corner of the Q.Hill net with a helping hand of the 'keeper's glove. High Shincliffe went looking for more, Joe Barber passed into Santamaria on the edge of the 6-yard box and he coolly finished with the outside of his right boot to claim a deserved debut goal in off the post. It was all Avenue with a few counters from Quarrington Hill which saw a goal-line block from Browne with his chest preventing a certain goal. Santamaria also had what looked to be a perfectly timed run and finish ruled out for offside moments later. Q.Hill drew level with around 5 minutes of the first half to play. A high ball in from their winger 'caught out' Laing who fumbled to gift another goal to the away side. Laing taking one for the team on the day found his composure and managed to see the rest of the game out without much worry. The Avenue came out strong early in the second half, Santamaria having two efforts cleared of the line by Q.Hill number 6 and ultimately their Man of the Match. The Avenue defence was solid, the midfield busy, and Santamaria mesmerising. He rounded two men and slotted the ball through to Roughley, who, two yards out, fluffed his lines to ensure he'll picking up at least the wooden spoon at the end of the season. Quarrington Hill worked hard trying to find an opening but it wasn't to be. The Avenue took a 3-2 lead after a low Joe Barber corner took a deflection of the man on the post and squirmed in. Craig and Robson entered play for Buckle and Roughley, shoring up the backline for the Ave. There were numerous more chances with Browne hitting the bar with a powerful header off another J.Barber corner. The game was sealed on around 82 mins when right-back Phil Blacklock went galavanting forward, he made a neat interchange with Browne and slotted home to claim his first goal for the club. The delight on his face was clear for all to see. A good all round performance from the Avenue and a good 3 points. A game defined by mistakes. Q hill took an early lead through Carl Tingley but Shincliffe pulled it round to lead 2-1 at half time. Q hill got it back to 2-2, Lewis Newton netting the equaliser but an own goal and a defensive error gave Shincliffe the 4-2 win.Q hill man of the match Steven Gardiner
Pittington
FC 3 v 1 Durham County Seniors FC
Pittington inflicted Durham County’s first league defeat of the season and the visitors could have no arguments about the result, the home team stormed into a 3-0 lead at half-time, with Durham offering very little in the way of clear goal scoring opportunities, they did grab a goal back mid-way through the second half, Mark Hughes with a fine strike from 18yards from an Adam Whale through ball. Durham pressed forward searching for more but Pittington defended magnificently and ran out deserved winners. it was a scrappy game at times, but most of it was played with some good football by both teams, a well taken goal by gareth sheraton broke the deadlock in the 1st half to give pittington the lead, then a goalkeeping mistake from dcs goalkeeper, gifted martin clough an easy finish to give pittington a 2 - 0 lead, and just before half time a deflected shot from phil harbisher give pittington a 3 - 0 at half time, in the second half durham county came out strong, but some strong defending from pittington was enough to only concede a consolation goal |

Half time Team Talk Spurs on The
Lyons
Hetton Lyons progressed in to the
last eight of the competition but you wouldn’t have predicted that after
watching the first half. Allerton could have been four goals up and no one
would have complained about it. The home side missed a glorious chance in the
15th minute to open the scoring but completely missed the target
but in the 20th minute they did take the lead with a simple header
from the unmarked striker. Lyons keeper Newbrooke pulled off a brilliant save
on the half hour but it was Allerton that were creating all the chances and
soon after it was 2-0,with the Allerton midfield and forwards making it look
so easy. Just on the stroke of half time the Lyons grabbed a goal back, Lewis
Teasdale on the right side had a shot that was saved from the keeper and Warren Byrne picked up the rebound
and smashed the ball in to the net 2-1at the break and it could have been a
lot worse.
Second half and it was a totally
different Lyons team, playing some good football creating lots of chances and
the home team were on the back foot, whatever was said by manager Stuart
Gooden at half time was working. Lyons had a free kick from the left hand
side and Pricey’s kick was perfect for Daryl
Hall to give the keeper no chance with his header 2-2 game on. Minutes
later Warren Byrne was unlucky with a header and then he was one on one with
keeper but lost out. Substitute Chris Bell saw his shot hit the crossbar,
Football from the Lyons was much better on a terrible pitch and with 15
minutes to go Nicky Kane played the ball back to Craig Price on the edge of the right hand side of the eighteen
yard box and he bent his shot over everyone and it flew in to the goalkeepers
right hand side of the net 2-3. Allerton Pushed players forward looking for
an equaliser but the Lyons defence were much more together and gave them few
opportunities Danny Craggs should have
wrapped the game up when his shot beat the goalkeeper but the ball went

An even game, with chances at both ends. Kelloe edged it and clinched victory through Coates after good wing play down the left. In what was difficult playing conditions due to the wind and damp pitch, both teams struggled to command any real play in the game. Kelloe had a few half chance but never really troubled the Brandon goalkeeper. Brandon had the best chance of the half when their striker broke clear 1 v 1 with Morris, but Morris denied him with a good save. The second half was more of the same, kelloe wasting numerous half chances and were nearly punished when Brandon hit the post with Morris well beaten. Kelloe took the lead when great work down the left from charlton lead to a cross that Coates headed into an empty net. Brandon reacted immediately and only a superb save from Morris denied Brandon an equaliser. Kelloe withstood the late pressure to book a plac in the final.

Ferryhill Saints
1st half HCLFC were kicking into a strong wind and took the lead after 5 minutes when Iain Macpherson cut in from the left onto a through ball from midfield and finished with aplomb into the far bottom corner. HCLFC were then denied a penalty when Iain Macpherson was chopped down in the box only for the referee to adjudge the foul to be outside the box much to the disbelief of the homeside. Ferryhills goalkeeper then put his side level with a long wind assisted kick out of his hands which bounced once & over the keepers head into the net. Midway through the 1st half Saints then went in front when HCLFC failed to clear a corner and the ball was slotted home from 5 yards. Iain Macpherson was then fouled in the box once again and this time there was no doubt and the referee pointed to the slot. Magic Craig Johnson stepped up to send the Saints keeper the wrong way. HT 2-2. 2nd half with the wind still blowing hard down the pitch both sides continued to create chances and HCLFC should have took the lead with a header from Andrew Steele which he put wide from close range. Ferryhill Saints from this point pushed on with some great counter attacking football into the wind and took the lead with a chip over the outcoming keeper from inside the box, then HCLFC had one cleared off the line from a corner and from the resulting counter attack a Saints defender bustled his way through to score in off the post. Saints sealed the 2-5 win with a header from close range to progress to the semi's. Credit to both sides who played their best football kicking into the wind and goodluck to Saints in the semi's. WJFC 4 V 2 Coxhoe wmc
Wjfc welcomed Coxhoe for their latest Premier League match. The wind was a big factor in this game with Coxhoe starting with a gale force at their back`s. The 2 teams were pretty much evenly matched with wjfc just shading possession, however Coxhoe took the lead after a good ball over the top put their No.10 Owen`s through and his first touch was brilliant, allowing him to shoot over the approaching wjfc`s keeper Smith 1-0, end to end stuff resulted in wjfc equalising after 35 mins, Costa won the ball 35 yds out and split the Coxhoe defence in two putting Middlemiss through on goal to fire under the Coxhoe Keeper 1-1, the game was played in good spirit by both teams throughout the first half, wjfc took a 2-1 lead after a corner was volleyed into the net by Halliday H/T 2-1 wjfc. With the wind at their backs wjfc took more control of the game and with Coxhoe throwing everything into attack resulted in wjfc going 3-1 ahead when Briggs put Miller clean through for him to slide the ball under the Coxhoe keeper, always be afraid of the injured animal and this was the case when Coxhoe`s never say die attitude gained them a second goal, after a good passing move Coxhoe`s No.7 Burton fired a cracker into the top left hand corner from 18yds 3-2 wjfc. wjfc wrapped up the game after a great one-two by Stephenson put Miller through again and this time he rounded the Coxhoe keeper to fire into an empty net 4-2 to wjfc at the final whistle. Playing a team wearing mostly ALL BLACK STRIP with a bit of orange, forcing the ref to wear a yellow bib.Playing on a 3G pitch with metal fencing all around took the atmosphere away from a normal game, a wire/cable stretched from oneside of the pitch to the other (for the netting to split the piches up, caused problems as everytime the ball hit the cable the game was stopped, restarting with a drop ball First Division
Sacriston WMC 0 v 1 Gilesgate
Moor Queens Head
Extremely windy conditions made it hard for quality football to be played. A hard fought scrappy match stayed 0-0 until the last few minutes when Robert Cooper scored the winner to earn Gilesgate a vital 1-0 win to keep their promotion hopes alive. The first half saw Sacriston have a very strong wind and they should of gone into the lead with Gilesgate keeper making two excellent saves and also the Sacriston front line squandering some easy chances. The second half saw both teams battle and Gilesgate had a couple of chances themselves to opening the scoring but found the Sacriston goalkeeper making one good save to keep the game level. Then the last minute of the game saw Gilesgate shoot from 18 yards out, a Sacriston defender managed to block the effort and unluckily fell to another player from 10 yards out who fired it into the top corner.

Both teams had players missing, from a Netpark point of view it was the second game in a row where enough chances were created to win the game. Waldridge Park FC 2 v 3
Washington Ox and Plough
It was a case of missed chances which cost Waldridge Park FC the points in an entertaining game at home to Washington Ox and Plough. Waldridge took the lead after two minutes when winger Sean Lewis's pinpoint cross was volleyed home by Chris Days. The visitors came more into the game and were rewarded with an equaliser just before half time scoring from a corner. The home sides advantage was restored after the break when a fine passing move was finished off by Richard Ellis. Waldridge were guilty of not clearing their lines and Washington equalised again with a shot from outside the box. A number of chances were then either wasted or the away keeper saved and Waldridge were made to pay when Washington capitalised on an error by the home keeper to snatch what turned out to be the winning goal. |
